Al-Farouq AminuParticipant06- Adam Morrison(3), Shelden Williams(5), Patrick O’Bryant(9), Mouhamed Sene (10)
05- Yaroslav Korolev (12), Sean May (13)
04- Rafael Araújo (8), Luke Jackson (10), Robert Swift (12)
03- Darko MIlicic (2), Mike Sweetney (9)
02- Nikoloz Tskitishvili (5), Dajuar Wagner (6)
01- Kwame Brown (1), Rodney White (9), Kedrick Brown (11)
00- pretty much every one besides a guy named Redd
99- Jonathan Bender (6), Trajan Langdon (11)
98- Kandi (1), Tractor (6)07-Acie Law looks pretty bad so far
08- Joe Alexander might win for this
09- I predict Gerald Henderson and Hasheem Thabeet0 - Posted on: Fri, 05/01/2009 - 9:44am #147930
billykParticipantI wouldnt call Jason Williams a bust a motorcycle accident ended his career… Bender had legit NBA ability his body just broke down on him.

D HampParticipantWasn’t William Avery drafted a lottery pick in 99 with Trajan Langdon. He didn’t last two years.

WälseParticipanti really thought Bender was destined for stardom. damn, i wish his knees hadn’t let him down. that guy had all the potential in the world. i wouldn’t call him a bust either, because he could really play. i would only label a guy a bust if he was garbage on the court. wagner, livingston, and williams kind of fall into the same category as Bender where their bodies defied them. livingston’s injury made me want to stop playing ball!

NBAdraftRoom.comParticipantIs Chase Budinger this years Luke Jackson?
Is BJ Mullens the next Robert Swift or Michael Olowkandi?
who else will be a bust in this years draft?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 05/01/2009 - 11:14am #147937

Al-Farouq AminuParticipantYeah,
I would discount injuried guys like Bender, J-Will, Wagner, and Livingston.Adam Morrison is like the worst #3 in the past 15 years
0 - Posted on: Fri, 05/01/2009 - 12:04pm #147941
cprizz15Participantit doesnt really make any sense to label BJ Mullens as “the next Olawakandi” seeing how the majority of predictions on this guys career is that he will be a bust
i would say jordan hill is my bust for the 09 draft, he’s just somewhat unproven. not that im rooting against him or anything but i am anxious to see how his careers is gonna play out
0 - Posted on: Fri, 05/01/2009 - 12:14pm #147942
Bballfan123ParticipantLook at the archive and you’ll notice almost half of the 1st rounders are out of the league (some of them have been out for a while)
Worst draft ever0 - Posted on: Fri, 05/01/2009 - 1:21pm #147944
drew2288Participantkenyon martin was the # 1 pick and he is not a bust as well mike miller he is solid.

mamadouParticipantyep cprizz15, hill is my bust number one, thabeet is really close…that guys benefits of the huge lack of size at every positions, fakes, fake stats, fake potentials, they’ll s… hard.

michaelds911ParticipantPlease don’t call Chase the next Luke Jackson. Chase has a lot more to offer than just shooting, unlike Luke. Thabeet will definately be the biggest bust this year. The guy is way too weak to deal with NBA big men night-in, night-out. Plus he has the worst offensive skill set out of all the centers and power-forwards in this draft. Sounds like a bust to me, especially if he goes in the top 3.

EuroballermoParticipantlest you forget, last year trajan langdon was voted Euroleague MVP out of CSKA Moskow, He was a bust in the NBA but i would’t say he was horrible, it just wasn’t a good fit
0 - Posted on: Fri, 05/01/2009 - 7:33pm #147973

Al-Farouq AminuParticipantEuroballermo, lol, I like how u know all the European info.
Wwhy not bringing Langdon back to see how much he has improved, like what happened to Anthony Parker.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 05/01/2009 - 8:11pm #147984

sheltwon3ParticipantThe jury is still out on Sean May because he can play but he is in bad shape and overweight but he has the skills to be in the NBA. Vaquez is actually good but he did not come over just yet and if he does he may be like Scola. You should only call people bust who did not make it talent wise. Chase Budinger is a lot more athletic than Luke Jackson who can be labeled a bust too. I will have to watch Chase more to see where he fits because he has lots of skills but is not polished and he does not have the mentality to me to be a star.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 05/01/2009 - 8:18pm #147985

Mr. BasketballParticipantpeople who get bad injuries unexpectedly are not busts: j-will, livingston.
also, just bcuz u have not heard of vasquez do anything in the league does not mean he is a bust: its bcuz he did not come over for money reasons, he can still play; hes not a bust until he plays badly in the NBA which has not happened.

MrWoLeeParticipant00- pretty much every one besides a guy named Redd
aminu, what about a guy named Hedo Turkoglu? he’s done ok for himself.
other than that, i totally agree

KantParticipantRemembering some great choices made by GM’s…
1.- Darko Milicic (#3 Carmelo)
2.- Kwame Brown (#3 Gasol)
3.- The guy who traded Elton Brand to pick Tyson Chandler
4.- Stromile Swift (but that was the worst draft ever)
5.- Maybe in the future we’ll talk about Greg Oden and Kevin Durant…
6.- Kandiman! Wohooo!
7.- Nikoloz Tsiki…that chap at #5 who couldnt play for his life
8.- Dajuan “Mr. 100 points” Wagner0- Posted on: Sat, 05/02/2009 - 10:08am #148048
wanza1U think kevin durant is a bust he is the next t-mac.

Al-Farouq AminuParticipantNo way is Chase the next Jackson,
Chase is 3x more athletic than Jackson
Luke is a lot like Adam Morrison, a stright up shooter,
Chase can dunk the lights out and break the ram0 - Posted on: Sat, 05/02/2009 - 7:46am #148024
evan13ParticipantYeah but Chase is not a great shooter and he won’t be that athletic for the NBA. He won’t get more than ten a game next year.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 05/02/2009 - 8:08am #148027

Al-Farouq AminuParticipantChase is rated 10/10 on this site for athleticism.
How many white guys currently are as athletic as Chase ???
There is David Lee, Fernandez, Birdman Anderson, Joe Alexander, and that’s all.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 05/02/2009 - 8:18am #148029
evan13ParticipantThere are plenty of black guys that are more athletic than him and he is not a shooter like Jackson and Morrison. He won’t be as bad as Jackson but he is pretty overrated.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 05/02/2009 - 10:34am #148013
evan13ParticipantI agree about Chase Budinger being the next Luke Jackson. Kant, KD has not won yet but he has already proven himself one of the best scorers in the league and they will be winning in a couple years.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 05/02/2009 - 1:08pm #148079

The8thDeadlySinParticipantI hope he is not the next T-Mac. He never got out of the first round of the playoffs untill this year and he is not even playing.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 05/02/2009 - 2:20pm #148088

llperezI’m gonna guess whoever the Hawks pick will be a bust. Seriously, drafting Shelden at #5 was ridiculous. Marvin Williams over Paul and Williams. Acie Law. They traded the rights to Gasol for Abdur-Rahim.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 05/02/2009 - 3:16pm #148092

Al-Farouq AminuParticipantGood point iiperez22, with the exception of Al Horford.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 05/03/2009 - 7:45pm #148259
Stlouie52ParticipantI agree with a lot of these bust picks. I think nikoliz tskitisvili or whatever his name was one of the worst picks ever. I remember being a little kid and seeing him get picked after averaging 5 points a game in Europe. I really don’t understand some people. I think he meant the Durant thing as a reference to the Blazers making a horrible pick and seeing what they could have had. I think Durant will be more like Gervin than T-Mac, both due to body type and just an unbelievable ability to score.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 05/04/2009 - 10:11pm #148377

Evan_MilbergParticipant2002 – Chris Wilcox (can be considered a bust because he was picked before Amare), Jared Jeffries
2004 – Sebastian Telfair
2005 – Martell Webster0 - Posted on: Tue, 05/05/2009 - 12:12pm #148419
KantParticipantClarification: I was talking about Oden being no. 1 and Durant no. 2 (I never thought I would need to write this!)
