Which coach?

Rick Adelman definitely. Everywhere he goes, that team succeeds. Starting in Sacramento, he led a young team to the Western Conference Finals which they should have won (Thanks Tim Donaghy). Then he went to Houston and survived injuries to TMac and Yao and led a team with a 6’6 center to the playoffs. Finally he comes to the Timberwolves where losing is a tradition and turns them into a winning team.

 I’d go with either of the two coaches you posted above, for the same reasons, but the coach I’d most want to play for, D’Antoni. You can rest half the time you’re on the floor.

As a wolves fan I am biased but I have to say looking at Rick Adelman’s record he’s done it time after time with young talented teams.

Popovic is a pretty good call too, but he’s also always had stars to back him up, Tim Duncan has always had his back.. 

As far as dealing with seasoned vets Rick Carlisle did a great job last year guiding what I thought was too old of a Mav’s team to a championship..

 I think Nate McMillan should be thrown in the conversation. He never has a "superstar" on his team, although Roy was close and Aldridge is getting there, yet he always has his team in the playoffs. 

^Nate McMillan is a great coach, but isn’t the best time to bring him up. But I think he and his team will put it together and try to climb back into the playoff race.

 OKC’s staff had a good job of creating a competent team with the likes of durant,westbrook,harden and ibaka all coming from the draft and seasoned players like Perk and Collison. I think Scott Brooks deserves some mention in this category. The way he developed the team and its players in 3-4 years to be a contender is a good job.

Don’t forget he went to 2 Finals in early 90’s too. Just couldn’t beat the Pistons or the Bulls. 8th all time in wins and winning pct with 5 different teams now.

I may be biased as Rockets fan but I’m going to say Rick Adelman.  He did so much for us with so little.

 I’m an Adelman fan but I gotta give props to Bulls’ Tom Thibodeau… I mean he eats, sleeps and breathe basketball… I think even in his sleep he dreams of X and O’s for tomorrow’s gameplan… He’s a workaholic sonovagun… He is the male version of my Subject Area Coordinator (when I was teaching), so meticulous and such a perfectionist, always looking ways to get his team to be better the next game… I just love how he brings the best out of the 13 guys out there not just Derrick Rose..

 Tom Izzo, I know its college, but look at the team he has and look how good they’ve done
