DondiJohnParticipantI’ve seen in each player’s profile that there’s a category NBA Ready. How can you classify if a player is NBA Ready? Does a senior who had an outstanding career in college be more ready than a Underclassman or an international prospect?

mikeyvthedonParticipantOne is to play in the league right away. I think some teams take that into account and would rather not wait on a prospect to develop, but want someone who is ready to contribute. Usually, the more physically developed a player is, the more ready they are to contribute. I believe that every year you take before you enter the NBA is another year in which your game and mind will make you more likely to contribute as a rookie.
Still, not all seniors or juniors will be as ready to contribute as some of the best sophomores and freshmen. It is about the level of talent, physical ability and mental set-up of the prospect. I also think that it sometimes is a rating to counter prospects that may not be ready to contribute right away, but have more potential to improve or a higher ceiling than some who might provide more in their first couple of years in the league.

TRC1991Participantfor instance, thomas robinson is probably pretty prepared to step in right away and contribute at the next level due to his 3 years of college experience and mature attitude as opposed to a guy like quincy miller who wouldnt nearly be as NBA ready
