Pat Riley along with a number of other NBA GM’s were at the Garden Specifically target scouting WVU Kevin Jones and told Huggin that hes really high on KJ in the 1st round if hes still there when they pick

thats king riley for ya… kevin jones as i said before would be the a great addition to the heat. heat will for sure get a good big with their pick. i would like a legit C better but riley knows what he doing. any big that can run the floor, shoot the midrange jumper, and hustles, the Heat likes. kevin jones reminds me of udonis haslem, who resembles heat culture at its best; taking charges, challenging every shot, never gets lost on a play defensively, extreme hard worker, etc…

Yes, I’m sure Pat Riley was at the Big East tournament specifically scouting only one player. Sounds legit.

too bad he won’t fall that far.  He’s a lottery pick in my opinion.

When you think about it really is. The Heat, realistically, will be drafting within the last 2 or 3 picks of the first round. So they wouldnt scout a player who isn’t in that projected range.

Personally I think kevin jones could turn into al harrington esque on the offensiveend, could score in bunches, needed a few years to improve his jumper from range…

Yeah you might want a legit center but you ain’t gonna find one with the 27th – 30th pick

fab melo, gorgui dieng, mason plumlee (i see him being able to playing C with the heat), jeff withey

we might be better off with K. jones tho if we cant get melee or plumlee

He might be a Chuck Hayes type of player at the next level, but he’s not as good a shot blocker like Hayes..He’s scrappy, smart and a good offensive rebounder for his size..But last year at the combine he had 1 of the worst workouts ever, scouts and gms including Pat Riley told him to go back to school, work on his post defense, defensive rebounding & outside shooting…Please remember there are reasons why all conference players from big name schools in major conferences are still playing college ball as seniors..Most of the time its becuz a coach has garnered info about that player from nba people..And they were told that player are borderline nba players ..And those guys continue to work on their games…Some improve and get drafted, while others spend their careers overseas….

He might have to catch on with a team that’ll appreciate what he brings to a team, like Hayes did..Becuz in a deep draft, i dont see a 6’7 power forward, with limited skills being taken in the 1st round..

i would take him 1st round for the heat. he’s 6’8.5ft tall with shoes and has a 7’2 wingspan, he runs the court like a SF and is tops among O. rebs. hardest worker, glue-guy, hustle player, takes smart charges, has a nice mid range touch with an over the head stroke and a good finesse touch under the rim with sweet floaters to overcome size disadvanges and smart ways to use the board that i see translating to the league. experienced, rarely ever makes the wrong play and is polished enough to win a ‘ship his freshman year.

Kevin Jones just school Drummond today and you’re worried about his size?

Chuck Hayse?  No..  That’s a bad comparison..  Hasslem is by far the best comparison out there..  Another one that would be pretty close is Patrick Patterson.

Jones is definately not a lotto pick. He is 6-8 with pretty long arms and below avg altheticism. He can board and make the occasional outside shot. But he can’t create offense for himself. He will likely be an early 2nd round pick.
