KayjayParticipantDamn I really liked the guy before he was drafted. I’ve always been a sucker for versatility.

NotHamedHaddadiParticipantHe is kinda like Iguodala himself in his way to do a little bit of everything, but thanks for the update because I need to go pick him up in my fantasy league lol

aamir543ParticipantGreat for him, hopefully this is the breakout game that prompts Doug Collins to give him 32+ minutes a game. He can handle the ball like a point, shoot it at a decent rate(although his three point shot needs a lot of work), he’s really crafty at the rim and has good athleticism. Plus he can battle inside and get boards. If given the opportunity, he can really put up some good numbers and help the Sixers win. I also feel that he and Holiday compliment each other very well. And about Holiday, he’s playing well, but he hasn’t even scratched the surface of his potential. He hasn’t shot the ball particularly well this season, but he has a very bright future ahead of him.

Ghost01ParticipantSomewhere, 19134 is pissing his pants.

festar35ParticipantNo way after tonight’s effort that Collins can justify not starting and giving him 32+ minutes a night…….. Right?

BrentSuriaga01Participantit’s already 4th quarter and he scored 26 points and has 9 rebounds, he could go for 30 and most probably a double-double. Collins should have done this eariler you know, play him for 32 min. And why in the hell is Meeks getting the time that evan should deserve?

BrentSuriaga01ParticipantYou have to give credit also to that Trojan dude. I thought he was a bad pick for them but he’s really going to be a reliable center in the future

Mr. 19134ParticipantThis is Turner’s second consecutive start. He finally got his first season the other night against the Bucks and played really well. He shot 1-12 which looks bad on paper but both teams shot under 40% that night and nobody was getting the roll on the rims, basically the only shots made against the Bucks were ones that were nothing but net, me and my cousin were thinking they had the rims too tight. I never saw so many balls rim out it was crazy. But he also had 12 rebounds that game and made some great plays off the dribble.
Tonight he was more settled down because he got the first start jitters out the way and really torched the Celtics. I don’t know if you guys watched the game but Turner was on Rondo most of the game and Rondo played terrible.
I posted before that Turner put up good numbers when given 28 or more minutes because he that type of player that get’s better as the game wears on.
It wasn’t untill the Sixers recent terrible play that they finally decided to give him a chance to start and more minutes and thank God. I’ve always said he can do the same things Iggy does right now only Turner is a more natural scorer and a better rebounder. He’s just not as athletic so in limited minutes he don’t always look great.
And Swagg is correct is must of changed my pants 2 times during this game 😉

ilike.panochasParticipantHopefully this is a permanent move. If he is given 36MPG, Turner will easily average double-double as a SG, that’s pretty impressive.

omphalosParticipantYou can say "why didn’t he do it sooner", but it might be that Turner was successful as soon as he was given the extra minutes because they waited until he was ready.
I do hope this isn’t just a tease and Collins gives him these minutes consistently now, but it’s the same mentality of Byron Scott and Kyrie Irving’s minutes, if the team is winning you can be patient with your prospects.

DondiJohnParticipantThe reason why Meeks was starting is his Outside shooting. He’s their best outside shooter and currently he’s on a slump. Thumbs up for Mr. Turner, wish him all the best and may he continue to fill the stat sheets.
Btw, do you see Turner as a 2 or a 3?

Mr. 19134ParticipantTurner’s best attributes is how smart he is, and how well he’s able to manage a game, and impact the floor on both sides of the ball with his defense and playmaking. They’re the type of players who are better starting not to mention taking somebody 2nd overall and grooming him to be a bench player is beyond ridiculous especially on a team that lacks a star.
And since Turner isn’t a great shooter as we all know he’s the worse type of player to bring off the bench because he can’t be patient and pick his spots without enough minutes, and he can’t just spot up and hit 3’s to get points cuz he don’t have that in his game yet.
I thought he earned the starting SG spot last year when he won the game for the Sixers vs the Heat by icing the game with clutch free throws and making a bunch of clutch shots down the stretch. He started this year off really well but his minutes went from 26mpg to like 15 this past month for no apparent reason and that couldn’t of had a positive impact.
But Honestly Turner’s best position is definitly PG. Him and Holiday work well in the backcourt cuz Holiday can run off the ball and shoot 3’s. But this season he’s added more of a post game to his move set so he’s probably better off playing SF and just running the Point Forward role that Iggy is doing right now.
So I’m gonna say SF is probably his best position right now considering the way the roster is built. Plus he’s pretty good in the post and get’s a ton of rebounds. I too think he can average a double double because he just has a knack for playing the ball off the rim and he’s a terror once he pushes it and get’s the ball out the break.
The only thing Turner needs to really start doing more is dunking. Sometimes he gets in the whole and tries to kiss it off the backboard when he can just go up stronger for an easy dunk. Everynow and then he will throw down a dunk tho you didn’t see coming.

YurpleHazEParticipantIf he can add some intensity and a bit of aggressivness to his game….I dont see why he can’t be a star in this league..

HaleParticipantPeople really hated him for most of last year too. This is why prospects need to be given time. He’s been sensational this year.

BrentSuriaga01ParticipantIguodala might have to pack his bags

PulseGlazerParticipantI don’t want to be a prick since I like Evan, but the Celts were on the third night of a back-to-back-to-back where the first 2 games went to OT… and they’re old as dirt. Can we maybe wait a bit before we crown Turner?

Taylor Gang MikeParticipant"Iguodala might have to pack his bags" hahahaahaha i member when the suns announcer said that hahah
But Et is playing great for us, he finallly showed what he can do last night, and that was handle the ball and set things up while scoring and rebounding and fast breaking. He plays allot like B Roy like i have said, but he controls the game like Lebron does (meanings Rebouding, scoring and fast break) he is not Lebron but i see him (at 6’7) being able to run the point and manage a game. and his handle is crazzy, Chicago really groomed him haha. But i love this kids game, my brother keeps saying we should trade Jrue for a Big man, or trade Lou but i think we should trade Iggy, a Iggy to Golden state for Dorrel Wright, Jeremy Tyler and a 1st would be nice. his contract is also up in 2 years and collins is not getting re signed either…
