mikeyvthedonParticipantGuys, I am amazed as well. The funny thing is, I saw Stephen A. Smith write a story about how this game was going to show if Jeremy Lin was "real" or not. Personally, I find it funny that Stephen A. chose a team that super consistently gets lit up by every PG that goes up against them. Just saying.
Lin still had a great game, kid looked like a killer. We will see what happens as the season progresses, but he had a monster tonight.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantIf Kobe commits a crime right now, he won’t go to jail. He’ll go to a rehabilitation center because he’s been diagnosed with Linsanity.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/10/2012 - 5:52pm #634932

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantIf Deron Williams goes to trial, he can plead not-guilty by reason of Linsanity.

FastAndFuriousParticipantYo show me another PG who does better when they start!!! lol
The Knicks are 4-0 so far when Lin starts and his numbers are:
28.5 PPG
8 APG
3.7 RPG
2stls per
Team UNDEFEATED!!!! lol but seriously tho, he is proving himself to be really good.

ultrablue123ParticipantI remember during the lockout at some point watching some "highlights" of him doing garbage time in Golden State. I thought he is not that bad, I wonder why he doesn’t play? However, never in my wildest dreams did I imagine he’d be putting 38 POINTS against the Lakers. It’s a great story.

0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/10/2012 - 6:11pm #634957
inukawaii8Participantwizkid.. i asked myself the same question. in a few broken plays, kobe guarded jeremy, and jeremy wasnt able to do anything except one play jeremy blew by kobe and i think got the foul call. but yeah, i was wondering why didnt they put kobe on him after the first half.

EntropyParticipantKobe will remember his name.

YurpleHazEParticipantDude is a flat out baller..his aggressiveness is really impressive.
I guess its good for the nba and what not…but I still think The hype is way over the top if you ask me…0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/10/2012 - 7:04pm #634978

TallmanNYCParticipantI thought Kobe would guard him more. But I think Kobe was too tired from the Celtics game last night and with the offensive load that he carries. Otherwise, Kobe is their best perimeter defender, so you would think he would take the assignment. However, another reason is the Fields is really quite big and strong at 6′ 6". Since the Knicks have size at 2G, it is hard for Kobe to slide over and give Blake or Fisher the responsibiliy of guarding Fields. Shumpert is also big strong and athletic and another tough cover for PGs.
They did try Barnes on Lin for a bit, but that didn’t work.

NYK2010ParticipantLin owning again.
Smart move by D’antoni finally getting him some rest it helped.
Kid making smart moves with the ball
Lakers followed typical scouting report that said he couldn’t hit the outside shot.
Lost in the Lin Mania was Tyson Chandler locking up Bynum.
So far Chandler has locked up Dwight Howard and Bynum both.
He’ll do fine with Amare who’s played with an elite Pg before and his game thrives with on.
Only thing is there gonna have to work on spacing between Amare and Chandler.
How Mello plays w/out the ball and with the offense is key.
I hope they play uptempo they have some shooters and should play well.

cabbycabParticipant"I guess its good for the nba and what not…but I still think The hype is way over the top if you ask me…"
After a 38 point game, I think the hype is warranted at this point. It doesn’t matter that this was against the Lakers. This is still the NBA, not some scrub league. So is Carmelo going to f%^& up the chemistry when he returns, like he did when he first go to NYC?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/10/2012 - 7:45pm #634998

Taylor Gang MikeParticipantHe is nicee, he mite be the answer for them with his IQ, and skill set.. But he played the Jazz, Wizards, Nets and…… Derek Fisher!!! lets wait a while… great great story tho
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/10/2012 - 7:59pm #635007
aamir543ParticipantWhat I really loved about him today was that he was able to knock down that 15 foot jumper, and If he continues to knock that jumper down with consistency, than he will be very hard to guard, much like Steve Nash, because the problem with aguy like Steve Nash is if you go over the screen, you trail him, and then either you’re big recovers to the screen guy, which leaves him open for a floater, or your big collapses on him and he kicks it to his big.
In time, that will be the exact style of play Jeremy Lin will have to play. As of now he is nowhere near the type of shooter that Nash is, but in due time, if he can even get a consistent mid-range jumper, then that keeps defenders honest and confused.
Another plus for Lin is that although he isn’t very fast, or only has average athleticism, is that he is a decent defender, and he goes hard on every single play.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/10/2012 - 8:14pm #635018

EntropyParticipantJust realised Lin is 6’4 in shoes. Nice size for a PG.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantThis has got to stop. I think you guys need a Lintervention.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/10/2012 - 8:19pm #635023
aamir543Participant^Yeah, cause DragonBallZ is so much more relevant than Jeremy Lin on a BASKETBALL FORUM.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/10/2012 - 8:43pm #635032

NbanflguyParticipantAamir why you gotta be like that?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/10/2012 - 11:31pm #635046

burningfloodParticipantThat was a Lincredible performance; it was completely Lintense, and rather Linvigorating to watch, if I do say so myself. This game will be forever Linscribed in my memory.
He went to my high school, so cut me some slack.

NYK2010ParticipantLintervention thats a new one.
Iman Shumpert goes back to playng at SG now too a more natural position for him.

NYK2010ParticipantDamn I had Lin-tastic thought I was the only one with that.
Now I see Boomer Esiason tweeted that.

JunkYardDogParticipantthis "lin" mania is based on some real good individual and collective perf’… no problem with that. Let’s just wait to see if he can be effective more thane several games (I hope so).
But I personaly think that it raises some question about mélo stoud’ and their real level of basketball : and I mean if a sophomore (even great like lin) can lead your team to 4 wins in a row, and your 2 supposed (well paid for a long time) FP doesn’t manage to do so…. you’ve got a problem.
We can also all notice the rising number of teams which win some games without real FP but thanks to numerous good bball player and a strong bench : houston, denver, philadelphia, indiana and even utah. Maybe this shortened exhausting season explain that fact but I don’t think this is the only reason. All that drama with big 2, 3, 4… seem to fed up some teams which decide to go the opposite way (ex : denver) and now to build something maybe more collective (they don’t have real choice with players like d12, deron williams, chris paul, melo, stoud’ wanting to play together in more attractive market).
0 - Posted on: Sat, 02/11/2012 - 1:21am #635054
NYK2010ParticipantYou can win with 1 Franchise player, Dallas, Chicago proving that.
Need the right role players a big man, PG and a bench though.

RafterParticipantI wasn’t sure if the Lin hype was warranted, i thought he was a flash in the pan for a couple of games and he’d run out of steam and drift away, so excuse me while i have some humble pie and to some degree i’m enjoying it. For me, he’s for real, a favourite for most improved player, Lowry will take some beating but if Lin plays even half of what he is doing, he has a chance.
What i admire most about him is his guts, he’s fearless, guys that play like that tend to last long in the league. Plus, his impact is incredible, i’m not sure if he knows it yet but the players really look to him for inspiration, it’s almost euphoric, there is an element of negativity that no one expects him to make tough shots, so when he does make a difficult play, the feel good factor goes into overdrive.
On a personal note, i’m happy for him and a great spot by the Knicks (again) they seem to keep finding talent, Wilson Chandler, Tony Douglas, Iman Shumpert, Landry Fields and now this kid from Harvard who was claimed off of the waivers. Let the Lin Dynasty continue.

BlazermannParticipantI love how he loves his God! He has faith in himself and shows it, I was really glad when he was signed to the Knicks I’d knew he be a solid bench player but turns out he’d be a great starter
0 - Posted on: Sat, 02/11/2012 - 3:51am #635061

HitsterParticipantI was surprised that the Lakers didn’t put Kobe on him or even tried MWP against him to try and cut down his shooting opportunities.
The Knicks may have stumbled on the answer to their system and when Melo and STAT come back, the opposition coaches will have to sort out the match ups and it may give Melo more spacing on the court
It’s good to see the Knicks doing better and they need to look to get above .500 in due course and get back into a play off spot. With 39 games to go this season if they look to go 6-4 for a couple of 10 game streaks and stay at 5-5 for the others then it gets them to around 34-35 wins and a play off birth.
My Jeremy Lin pun is the guy has great basketball Lin-telligence.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 02/11/2012 - 4:32am #635065

surveParticipantI said it here….
http://www.nbadraft.net/forum/knicks-starting-pg
and I was dead serious when I said it. I felt he deserved the opportunity being that the Knicks didnt have a for sure guy that could put at PG. I felt Lin was the most solid overall and safest pg they had on the roster.
I did not however see this coming. The statlines?? but what I really am most surprised about is the 4 wins. It goes to show, and I say it all the time, sometimes you never know how good a player is until he is in the right place at the right time with the opportunity.

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantNothing is better than a New York Knick bandwagon.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 02/11/2012 - 5:40am #635077

Meditated StatesParticipantHe played here in Massachusetts and I seen this from him before. I was high on him before the draft and though GS should have played him more. At least they knew they were wasting him and let him go. Not surprised.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 02/11/2012 - 6:42am #635085

Snatalini247ParticipantI guess the Knicks dont need to trade for steve nash anymore…
all i do is LIN LIN LIN no matta what!
got buckets on my mind i can never miss a shot!

and i drain shots!

Future_Scoutone thing i can say is that carmello is between the sword and the wall… when he gets back, if the team chemistry is gone and he is all about ISOing and shooting over people, this will have a major impact on what people think of him
