top prospectParticipantI’m baffled to know why Will Barton isn’t a lottery pick in this years NBA Draft. He has the size, skill and the stats to be a lottery pick. How many other SG’s average 18pts and 8rebs and shoots 50% from the field a game. He has better stats than J. Lamb and most of the SG’s that are listed on this site. This young man is up for the National Player of the Year Award but I continuously see this site and others disrespect his acomplishments and his game.

FastAndFuriousParticipantBulk…..
He needs to eat 3,500 calories a day lift heavy and drink two protein shakes a day, by NBA DRAFT night he will go from 175 to 205 guaranteed lol seriously tho.

top prospectParticipantThis is a common criticism of Barton but his size doesn’t stop him from averaging 8 rebs a game. I’ve put together a list of players that have more bulk (drink more protein shakes) but average less rebs per game. A.Rivers 4rebs, H.Barnes 5rebs, J.Lamb 4rebs, Kid-Gilchrist 8rebs, T.Jones 6rebs, Syracuse, Baylor, Missouri. Keep in mind that Kevin Durant was the weekest player in his draft class (he couldn’t lift 175lbs) he averages 8rebs in the league. People are always looking for an excuse to discredit someones talant.

omphalosParticipantI agree entirely, but if he slips into the late first my Celtics can pick him up, so I don’t mind if people keep sleeping on him.

RUDEBOY_ParticipantIf Barton’s teammate Wesley Witherspoon was averaging 18 pts & 8 rbs a game and was aggresive as Barton has been, scouts would have Witherspoon in the lottery and media draft site will have him in their mock..Becuz Witherspoon plays a more conventional game and Barton plays an unorthodox game which has alot of people trying to figure out how his game will translate to the pros..Even though Barton has everything you want for in a typical shooting guard athleticism, length, size and despite being a skinny guy ,he’s not afraid to mix it up down low and finish at the rim..But Barton needs work on his ball handling,he has unpredictable shot selections,he’s an average shooter, but thinks he has Reggie Miller or Ray Allen type range..
Scouts still havent been able to figure out how his game will translate to the pros..Some see him as a Scotty Thurman or Ron Huery type player, both guys excelled in college, but didnt make the pros..But i think he has more potential then ex teammate Elliott Williams who was a 1st round pick next season..Becuz he’s fearless and plays with heart…For some reason those guys find a way to make it in the league…

bball guyParticipantHes def a 1st rounder but lottery is too high. Late teens sounds about right..dont like that he attacks out of control so often..cant really shoot that great and is too skinny

RUDEBOY_ParticipantDammit!! I said Elliot Williams was a 1st round pick next season,i meant to say he was a 1st round pick 2 years ago..And Williams and Barton didnt play 2gether..But Williams is a former Tiger…

FastAndFuriousParticipantChris Douglas Roberts all over again
Dominates college, but scouts don’t know how his unorthodox game will translate so he will slip in the draft and have to prove himself in the league.

RUDEBOY_ParticipantYoungDave thats a good comparision, even though CDR was a better ball handler and playmaker,he did have an unorthodox game….

BiggysmallsParticipantBarton needs to find the campus cafeteria, order some muscle milk on Muscle and Strength.com (their shipping rates are better then Bodybuildings right now) and watch game film.
His bball IQ just doesnt seem to be that high, and while athleticism is nice, it wont take you anywhere if you dont understand concepts of spacing, shot selection, time and score on shot selection etc. Memphis as a whole, may be the most athletic team in the country but probably bottom 10 in terms of IQ.

iguapops420ParticipantCD-R is a good comparison, but he was nowhere near the rebounder or flashy player that Will is. He’s genuinely my favorite guard in the draft.
