     http://www.hoopsworld.com/nba-2-rondo-for-gasol-a-possiblity

I don’t really see it happening, but if it were it could actually benefit both teams. It’s not as if the original Big 3 championship found Rondo facilitating nearly as much as today. Sign another banger like Perkins(Sheed/Przybilla/Gadzuric/Fesenko/Dampier), and perhaps trade for a guy like Sessions with one of their 2 first rounders and Bass. Sign a Posey/Julian Wright/Al Thronton) off of waivers and you have a team somewhat similar to the 08 champs.

    Gasol/Przybilla/Steimsma

    KG/JaJuan/Wilcox

    PP/Posey/Pavlovic

    Ray/Pietrus/Moore

    Bradley/Sessions/Dooling

    Bynum/JO

    Murphy/McRoberts

    Artest/Barnes/Ebanks/Walton

    Kobe/Glock/Pono

    Rondo/Blake/Fisher/Morris

This could actually give Dwight more reason to want to come to LAL and play with a top playmaker and the top dog in the L, while leaving some assests for Orlando to look at.

Bynum(all-star)/Glock/Ebanks and 2 2012 first rounders and you could be talking another dynasty.

Neither team would ever do this.  Even if it benefits them both, they just wouldn’t.

As I said, I don’t see it happening. But please, explain your reasoning as to why neither team would do this?

Why would neither team do this?  Rondo hates, and I mean HATES the Lakers.  Why would he want to come play in L.A.

2nd of all, what’s Boston going to do when KG, Allen, and Pierce retire?  Right now, it seems as if Rondo is going to take the franchise, but what about two-three years from now if they don’t have Rondo?  Gasol is pretty old too, he’s not going to hold that franchise.

It’s not that "neither team would do it" as I stated above.  The Celtics and Rondo wouldn’t do it.  I should have made that a bit clearer.

You’re basically trading your only young player that has franchise star potential for a 2nd or 3rd option at best on that Celtics team that is also old.

To wrap it up, what would the Celtics do 2 years from now if this trade goes down when the Big3 retires?

That is legit issues, but I sincerely don’t think Rondo wouldn’t play on a team where he gets to win again. Not to mention he’s just a tough competitor. As Pincus said, numerous sources seem to believe that Boston don’t have intentions on building around Rondo. Insert Gasol to said aging lineup that has 27million coming off the books this offseason and his contract runs out the exact same time Pierce’s does so it would allow them to start the rebuild at once while still giving them a real chance to compete between now and then.

But I do see where you’re coming from concerning the deal.

Yeah, they could rebuild when contracts expire but if you already have three young pieces, Rondo, Green and Bradley, personally, I wouldn’t move my best-young player for Gasol.  Also, it’s a lot more difficult to sign players when you don’t have a good player.  When all the contracts come off the books and the Big3 are gone, a 27-28 year-old Jeff Green probably won’t attract many free agents.

    That’s just my personal opinion.

I corrected myself in my 2nd post.

Rondo hates, and I mean HATES the Lakers. Why would he want to come play in L.A.

Why would a player decide if a trade is going to happen or not? Think Perkins wanted to go to OKC?

Perkins did not HATE the Thunder, he simply loved Boston.  There’s a huge difference there.

Would you want someone on your team that obviously does not want to be there?  It’s only going to cause tension with the players and coaches.  It’s obvious.

Quick example:  Randy Moss did not want to go to Oakland.  He was traded there, constantly dropped balls and played terribly.  Had horrible body language and show 0% effort, play-in and play-out.  1,500yds receiving and 11 TDs in two years while showing no effort whatsoever.

    He goes to New England.
The following year 1,500 yards receiving and a record 23 TD receptions (both in his first season) and his team goes 18-1, losing in the Superbowl.

If a player does not want to be there, he won’t play 100%.

Did you basically just trade Gasol for Rondo? Why the hell would the Celtics do this? Why would they trade their only future player? They don’t even get better and they end up with 4 guys in their mid 30s making 15 million each and in decline. I’m guessing you’re a Lakers fan.

     Tongue Out-

What is your belief Rondo hates the Lakers based on?

Also, again, why would this affect the trade? Did Randy Moss get traded? Yes he did. Do you really think the Lakers would blow a chance to get a legit PG + Keep Bynum because he "doesn’t like them"? LMAO.

Do you really think the Celtics would trade away Rondo for Gasol?  Get your head out of your ass.

Rondo is not on Pau’s level. Pau is one of the if not the best PF, Rondo isnt top 5 PG’s.

Tongue out- no, I don’t. Your daily irrelivent argument was that Rajon Rondo would not want to go to the Lakers, so this wouldn’t happen. That is far from the reason it wouldn’t happen. But as you do, when that point appeared even to you to make absolutely no sense, you fire back with a condescending question "Do you really think the Celtics would trade Rondo for Gasol?" Ummm, I never said that they would. Then the classic "get your head out of your ass" Woooo. Scary. If you want people who aren’t ass kissers to start respecting your opinion, post stuff that makes sense, and doesn’t sound like it was written by a 15 year old internet tough guy.

And before you fire back and start a new thread "Fuck This Guy" or anything like that, I’m not saying you are stupid, or don’t know basketball. I’m quite certain if you didn’t believe this site was a popularity contest, you would be far better off.

    You fooling bro.

Rondo is a top 5 PG easily.

Parker is good, but he isn’t top 5 good, IDK what your beef is with Rondo, but give the man his credit.

    O but just because I am curious…..

Why isn’t Rondo a top 5 PG to you?

As a Lake Show fan, I wouldn’t mind Rondo but I dont want to give up Gasol for him. The only reason we are in games is because of our rebounding advantage. If we can get Sessions with the Lamar trade exception and a pick i’d feel much better.

And Rondo may h8 the Lakers and he has good reason to, but we have nothing but love for him and he’d quickly warm up in So Cal.
