I’m not saying it should happen or will happen. My friend and I were talking about young players and what there trade value would be. We got to Wall, I said that Bynum would be more than enough. My friend doesn’t think so. So I ask you guys is Bynum a fair trade for John Wall?

Not a fan of Wall as far as being a teams beast player, however he is an extreme talent. But, I’d also say as good as Bynum is he definitely is not a best player on a NBA team.

Ya he’s having a great season, but no way do the Wizards trade their future franchise player away for someone who’s had so many injuries in the past. Plus they already have a pretty good center named Javale Mcgee.

I don’t think either team would do it. But as a Wizards fan, I’d consider.

I’d keep Wall 9/10 times. I don’t think you’d deal Wall for Bynum to be honest.

I dont see how that trade would help either team.

Lakers get a young, quick point guard that cant make a jumper and lose a Center All Star, they would have to move Pau to Center and play McRoberts or Murphy at PF.

Wizards get a Center, and lose a franchise point guard. Now they have 2 centers and no point guard.

Wall has the talent to be a top 10 player if he puts it all 2gether..But he nor Bynum are finished products yet…

I’m wondering here would Bynum rank on the list of current nba players?I wouldnt have him in the top 10 yet…

It’s not easy to compare Bynum to everyone else in the league.

But if you compare Bynum to the other Centers, then he is in the top 2-3

Howard, then Bynum or Marc Gasol.

Wall isnt even in the top 5 point guards. Maybe not even top 10.

Based on that, Bynum has more value as a true Center.

Yes, but also consider the fact that the point guard position is much deeper then the center position is nowadays. Good big men have become harder to obtain.

Nonetheless, regardless of best players at positions and such, i’d still take Bynum over Wall simply because both have talent, but size is something you can’t teach, and Bynum is capable of being dominant as he improves.

Watching the lakers the other day it was extremely apparent that they simply don’t have any other options at C/PF other than Pau and Bynum. Murphy and McRoberts are not producing anything. On offense Murphy just floats around the arc missing long jumpers no matter who he’s matched up with, McRoberts shows some positive energy but that’s about it. No way the lakers would even think about doing this…

If the lakers were to trade Bynum it’d have to be for Atleast one legit big man..

And the wizards wouldn’t (or atleast shouldn’t IMO) trade their "franchise" player for a frequently injured Center (which just happens to be a position they are set at with already with Mcgee….).

    nope..

I’d say Wall’s long-term value is higher than Bynum’s, but that’s not a trade either team would truly benefit either team in the short term.

With Bynum. I think Walls potential is higher, but not on that team. Dont like Ball dominante Wall with KB either.

The Lakers would do it in a second, the Wizards would say heck no.

Actually namewise Wall is the bigger name but a legit Center would help Wiz more than Wall could ever do and Mack has played well.  This move would automatically help Wiz.  It would help Lakers only because of money and they would have a legit point man.  They would have no size though and may have to make some more trades giving Gasol up for some young pieces and I doubt Lakers would want to rebuild when you have the 2nd best Center.  A top 5 shooting guard if not number 1 and a top 10 power forward and possibly top 3 if he is motivated.

Based on what? Wall flirts with triple doubles almost every game. His offensive game isn’t all there yet, but there is still nobody that can stay in front of him, and his jumper is better than most want to believe. Put any player in place of Wall and the Wiz still aren’t going to win now or in the near future with these guys. Thye need to make moves and start getting talent to put around Wall not for him.

This is a Big man versus Small man argument.  If you support the small man side, it would be a waste of my time to bring up why a dominant big is a bigger key to most things than a dominant small man.  Except for the few exception, going big is best for most teams.

    I don’t like trading a big for a small…

And Bynum is a monster this year.

With Bynum the Wizards are nowhere near contention.  Why not develop Wall and draft picks to see what you have, then, instead of taking a big who’s sure to bolt as soon as he can?  For the Lakers, this would signal full rebuilding, but since they still have Pau and Kobe, it wouldn’t get them the picks they need to complement Wall when he comes into his own.

The Lakers need someone like Kirk Hinrich, not Wall. Even Calderon would be a better fit for the Lakers than Wall, even though I think Fisher can play better defense than Calderon. The TPE doesn’t match up with Calderon’s salary, so too bad on that.
