My feeling is that, after number 1, teams will draft based on their weaknesses. Therefore, any number of players could go 2 through 10 in this draft. So before the lottery, I’m not sure how much meaning any mock draft is going to have. This draft is obviously weak, and after Blake Griffin its essentially a crapshoot.

    What do you think?

Since I think rubio will declare for the nba, we still don’t know whether griffin or rubio will be picked at number 1.

Not that weak. You have shooters in Ellington and Curry. Big men: Hill, Thabeet, Monroe (not sure if he entered) plenty of point guards and then wings like Henderson, Harden, Evans, DeRozan. Not as bad as the draft when Bargnani went no. 1.

Here are all the respectable or better players from that draft

bargnani, aldridge, tyrus thomas, b-roy, foye, gay, thabo, ronnie brewer, rondo, farmar, steve novak, daniel gibson, millsap, leon powe

That isn’t really that bad if you ask me…and I’ve left a few names off of guys I’m not convinced about yet…

but the thing is that draft class just started to prove themselves b-roy was really the only unquestioned impact, some would include gay and aldridge in that section also, but that draft class is sneaky good, hopefully tyrus will continue the improvement he’s had since december, lamarcus and bargnani can become better rebounders and rudy gay would play hard every night and we may have 4 all stars

I like that, “sneaky good”. I think that’s right on the money though…it is hard to judge how good a draft class is until you give them all (the players) a few years to settle in and figure things out…though you know its a great draft class when you have guys making an immediate impact, like ’04, and even this past years class has been pretty impressive…

This draft is weak at the very top, but there is plenty of depth. A lot of above average NBA players are going to come out of this draft, IMO.

Griffin and Rubio are locked as good, but there’s

    1. Harden – could be really good scorer in the league.
    2. Jennings – could be a hell of a point guard
    3. Derozan – Super athletic, could be superstar
    4. Tyreke – could be a hell of a play maker.
    5. Jrue Holiday – could be a solid point guard.

    So, you never know.

i laugh when i keep seeing people say..rubio will be great or good…another case of a euro being overhyped…ive played overseas basketball for 5 years never against rubio but have been to games where he plays agaginst some people i know and i must say hes a long way from being a great or even very good nba player..when i come back home to the states i laugh at how so many people who have only seen him in highlights talk about how great hes gonna be…his game is compareable to jose calderon at best so right now a poor mans jose…and please dont tell me about how good he looked int he olympics because we all know thats alot different then the nba (hell carlos arroyo)…now dont get me wrong he is talented enough to be a late first round pick but who ever decides to draft him in the top 5 will be sorry..people dont realize the talent level is alot lower in europ and the players esspecially guards are not as good as nba guards..they are more like 6th men on a d-leauge team..and they give him alot of problems so imagen a guy like chris paul or even steve blake …so before alot of yal jump on the euro banwagon and say hes definatley gonna be good because of the highlights you have seen just remeber the past couple drafts and the highlights you have seen from euros

there are a lot of players in this draft that could be stars with time, and their are a lot of players who will be solid players/role players…i’m thinking 3 perennial all-stars in griffin and the point guard battle of brandon jennings and ricky rubio, if rubio declares they will be forever linked like chris paul and deron williams

The 2006 draft didn’t have all the much talent. You did name some quality players, but half of them are backups. Farmaer isn’t even solid and some are just iffy. You really get Roy, Gay, Alridge, Brewer and Foye. (Thomas is still coming along). I didn’t ass Rondo because he surrounded by such immense talent I think an pg could succede with those circumstances.

Not every point can handle the situation like Rondo, to play with three future hall famers on a championship team is quite a task. Rondo is an all star point guard and probably a top three point in the East.

I could handle the point in Boston …you just summed it up. …he’s playing with THREE HALL OF FAMERS. Not only that. ..but those 3 are all unselfish vets who just care about winning. they checked their ego’s at the door, it’s not hard to please everyone when your team is winning 60 games a year.

I think you just supported my argument. You are pure genius! Three hall of famers on his team and it is hard to deal with, oh dang. Especially when they aren’t even selfish anymore! Wow Rondo has a tough life.

O ok maybe you dont understand…. Let me try again, to be Rondos age and to play with three hall of famers on a championship level is alot of pressure. Some players dont have that mental makeup to play at that level at such a young age. And like I SAID Rondo (ON THE CELTICS OR NOT) is a TOP THREE POINT GUARD IN THE EAST. To add to that I think he might be the best point guard in the east.

Better then Jameer Nelson, Devin Harris, Derrick Rose, Andre Miller and Mo Williams you say? You are sounding really smart. He is better then two of those maybe. No way Harris, Rose and Williams. The dude has no pressure on him anymore, he has three guys spreading the floor for him and all he has to do is beat his man one on one. OOOO so hard. Maybe last year you get away with the pressure crap, but not this year.

I would take him over Jameer Nelson (yes) You think the Celtics would have won the championship with Nelson at the point mmmm, Harris (yes) He seems like a player on a WEAK team but where was all this GAME when he was on the MAVS, Rose (no) Rose is a bad dude in three years he might be the best point in the league, Mo Williams (yes) way overrated cant wait to see him in the playoffs if he was such a STUD why the Bucks trade him. What seprates Rondo is his defensive and his ability to rebound the ball, but the point im trying to make is that Rondo is a LEGIT player that came out the draft of the 2006 draft regardless if he played for the Celtics or NOT…. O I forgot Andre Miller (yes). OOO so hard what you think you could do what Rondo does?

Rondo will be good when he is no longer surrounded by the talent like Garnett, Pierce and Allen. I have no doubt he will be a very good player. However, I don’t believe he would have been as good a player had he not been put in this situation. It really has given him the confidence that makes him such a good player, and I think had he been on a lesser team, he would not have developed as well or as quickly…

he sure didn’t look better then mo a few days ago when they went head to head buddy. and yeah i believe they would win with jammer cuz he can actually make a jump shot at the pg pos.and dont go take rose after you said rondo is theeebst in the east. i will take those three over that chump anyday.

A few days ago??? O you mean when the season was about to end. I dont that really counts. I dont think they (Celtics) would have won with a shoot first point like Jameer who TRIES to play defense. Jameer shoots to much and he is not as good as a distributer as Rondo. Jameer shoots better than Rondo and THATS IT. Let me repeat and I qoute “I THINK he MIGHT be the best point guard in the east.” keyword THINK and MIGHT. I think most teams in the NBA would take Rondo over Williams…

He said at the start of the post “teams will draft based on their weaknesses.” Don’t most teams draft based on their weaknesses??? Maybe not. I just thought that if you are picking number one, you have 5 weak positions and could take anyone. But after that, you draft based on weakness. Right? Maybe I’m wrong.

You could?? What are you doing reading this stuff then? What is your salary? Even if you say its a big number i bet you dont get paid to play a game. Show me some highlights of you old playing days Drummer82. I dont want to see your band clips, i need some college clips or somethin. I bet you are just tired of playing the game. Right? Tired of that shit. Dont’t make such stupid comments. He is wearing a ring for running a team. He is the glue of the team and could play anywhere in the league.

i dont like rondo..never have probably never will..something about his game i just dont like..i was the same with karl malone…on that note i must admit hes a baller..he out plays just about everyone i see him play or he at least is even and only a lil behind the top pg..the only thing he really cant do is shoot…but he gets in that lane steals rebounds passes and even blocks at a very good rate so even though i dont like him i do respect the fact that he is a very good player and future all star
