These two played each other last night and Muhammad had 42 points on 29 shots while Randle had 26 points on 14 shots. Randle’s team won by four, even though they were ranked much lower.

I think these guys play the same style of basketball at differant positions. Muhammad is physical and loves to go to the hoop from the shooting guard position, while Randle loves to drive from the high post area. Muhammad is 6’7, and 220 pounds, while Randle is 6’9, and 235 pounds. I think Muhammad is a college small forward and an NBA shooting guard, while Randle is a college power forward and an NBA small forward.

Both have solid post games (Muhammad is still developing it, even though he is a sg), and both are extremely athletic. Also, both are working on their jump shooting ability. From an NBA perspective, which one would you take if you had a team with a serious need at every position. Also, remember Randle is 13 months younger than Shabazz.

Also put the MaxPreps.com article in the "News" section. Randle is definitely talented, but I think he is a 4 on both levels. Solid face up 4, but he just seems like a definite future PF. I know he and Parker are both still young, but time will tell if they are really better than Muhammad. Regardless, solid win for Prestonwood, Randle’s squad. Shabazz’s team, Bishop Gorman, has a few senior bigs who are nationally ranked as well in Rosco Allen (Stanford commit) and Ben Carter (Oregon commit). Randle was not going up against slouches, that is for sure.

has a tendency not to play physical. Very skilled player but being a number 2 option on a NBA level is more of his future imo. Muhammad could be a number 1 with his size. The attention to defense could be his only ceiling.
