kdtriv01ParticipantListen, I love NBAdraft.net and I generally respect the writers on this site, but whoever makes up these mock drafts needs to be fired or be made to watch more basketball at the very least.
Jeremy Lamb over Davis, Barnes, Sullinger, and to beat it all Drummond over all 4.
1) Drummond had one good game and that was today. with 13pts 9rbs and 4 blocks, but other than that what has he done. I can see him in the top 3 but number 1, right now?
2) Why in the world would an NBA GM draft lamb over any of the aforementioned players?
Look, he’s a good scorer, but he is inconsistent. Today’s Line Provides the proof.
FG 3pt FT rb a s to pf pts Jeremy Lamb, G-F 40 5-16 2-9 3-4 2 1 2 3 2 15 5-16 from the floor, 2-9 from 3, 2 rbs, 1 assist, 3 turnovers and 15 points.
It is rare to see the number 2 draft pick actually lose a game for their team, but he managed to do it. I would take Napier before Lamb at this point. I understand Lamb’s potential is better, but right now, he is not consistent enough for that position.

delfamParticipant^ you forgot to mention that Lamb was playing a lot of PG today when Napier was out which isn’t his natural position, that probably had a lot to do with his poor performance.

iguapops420ParticipantLamb has had 2 out of 5 games that have actually been good. IMO, he’s a steal at 7-10 and a reach in the top 5, much less first. I still haven’t figured out what all of the hype is about. And just think, we’re still not in conference play yet.

March 8-April 4, 11 games, 11-0, 15.3 PPG, 55 FG%, 52 3FG%, 4.6 RPG, 1.6 APG, 1.4 TOPG, 1.0 SPG, 0.8 BPG.
The difference in UConn being the 9th seed in the Big East tournament and UConn winning the championship was Jeremy Lamb’s play. Try having a memory of longer than five minutes.

aamir543ParticipantI am assuming that you’re new to the site, but just so you know, the mocks are always messed up and odd until April or May. I agree that it is ourageous but to quote Kobe, "In June, they’ll say nothin’." By Jume Aran will have one of the best mocks, as he has done in previous years.

NCarmean18ParticipantI can see where you’re coming from, but we have to remember it is still November. The College basketball season has just begun, and there is plenty of college basketball to be watched, considering the work stoppage in the NBA. Now, I agree that Jeremy Lamb should not be above other guys such as Anthony Davis, Harrison Barnes, and Jared Sullinger — but early on these mocks are made up based upon potential.
Just because Jeremy Lamb has had a few bad games does not mean that he can’t clean it up. I honestly think when UConn gets Napier back and Lamb goes back to the 2, he will do as good of a job as he did last year. I watched him this past summer in the U19 Tournament in Latvia and he played very good basketball. He led the U.S. team in scoring and was eighth-highest in the entire tournament.
He has tremendous length and I think he will be a tremendous player in the future. Wherever he ends up going, I think he will be a solid wing for any NBA team.

dolla130ParticipantIf lamb is overrrated then what is Harrison Barnes I see and hear people rave about him and to me he is avg at best he to me was avg in high School he didn’t play no against no real talent in Iowa he played ok in all star games but thats about It to me as a player Barnes is damn near maxed out as a player will become a decent pro but that’s it lamb on the other hand is just scratching the surface of his game and potential and to me a better prospect and player then Barnes and will be the better pro he’s the better play maker and shoots and can get his own shot yeah Barnes has a nba ready body so what, not comparing lamb to Durant but Durant was 170 soaking wet and hes one of the best players in the league, I think that "nba body" crap is overrated sometimes,he had one bad game and people wanna jump on him Barnes played horrible for like the first half of a season last yr and along with kemba lamb helped his team win the NCAA title

iguapops420Participant@Both Teams…..I have a memory of 5 minutes, but when you’re playing beside Kemba Walker and the expectations aren’t as high, it’s a little easier to produce at a high level. Quit living in the past and LOOK at what he’s doing now. If he’s going to be taken in the top 5, he better produce better than he is now. I realize he has good potential and like I said, 7-10 he’s a good pick, but when you’re the number one option putting up the poor percentages he is BEFORE conference play, you probably aren’t deserving the top pick stature that some are putting on him recently.

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantI have ranked behind a few players as far as prospects I take in the Draft…
My Big Board
1. Anthony Davis (he is head and shoulders the best pro prospect and will not slip one bit in my eyes)
2. Andre Drummond (simply because he may play C in the League)
3. Perry Jones (no other player has the potential he has except for maybe Davis and Drummond)
4. Harrison Barnes (Long wing scorer that is as polished as anyone in the Draft)
5. Terrence Jones (versitile, long, strong and athletic…is also developing more range)
6. Micheal Kidd Gilchrist (A versitile G/F and has a winning mentality that cant be thought)
7. Quincey Miller (long, athletic and has great Ball skills, may be the best pure scorer in the Draft)
8. Jared Sullinger (big body and great post game, his measurables are the only keeping him out of the top 5)
9. Austin Rivers (his offensive skills and pro pedigree will keep him ahead of Lamb in my eyes)
10. Jeremy Lamb (barring another Final 4 appearence, Lamb will likely slip due to his weight(he is Rail Thin) and concerns about his Impact at the next level)
after That the Pg’s come to mind (Teague, Kabongo and Marshall), Tyler Zeller because he’s a true C with an offensive skillset, John Henson could become the Tristan Thompson of this Draft Class, Brad Beal is looking like a sniper and Thomas Robinson could be a late Riser ala Derrick Williams…also Terrence Ross and Tim Hardaway Jr could look on par with Beal and Lamb during pre draft workouts…Im not sold on Lamb as the # 2 pick but it is still way too early to Call out ARAN on his Mock draft…Lamb has been one of the breakout players early on so I’ll give Aran a break…I can see your issue with Lamb being so high because He’s just not that Good to pass on the Bigs for…Hell I’d probally look at trading down for One of the Other 2 Guards before I reach that high for Lamb…

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantThe draft hasn’t been set up yet in CBA negotiations. I have no idea whether 19 year olds will be eligible for the draft, and even if they are the college freshmen have played 3-5 games with no scouting reports against mostly bad teams.
Of the returning players, I think Lamb, Barnes, and Sullinger are 1-3 and it isn’t something I’d argue over. The problem is that none of them play point or center, and those are the two most important positions. If I had to place them, I’d go Barnes, Sullinger, and Lamb, but do that know most awful teams have drafted power forwards in the past few years.

Really, the Big East and NCAA tournaments didn’t have as high of expectations? Those games where Kemba was 8-22, 6-14, 8-20, 7-17, 6-15, 5-19 didn’t take place during that stretch? Those weren’t close games? It is totally reasonable to ignore that stretch of great play and overanalyze November snowbird basketball against UCF.

FastAndFuriousParticipantThis board is so BIASED lol one or two bad games and people doubt a players potential or what he can do! These kids have been scouted for YEARS since 9th grade, ONE game is not going to determine whether they get drafted or not, the NBA is a MILLION DOLLAR business, they know what a player can do and is capable of doing, Andre Drummond doesn’t have to score another point for UCONN and will still be a top 3 pick, thats what people fail to realize, they pick players off potential and what theyve seen over the years.
Shabazz Napier will be an NBA guard he had a setback against UCF, but today against #20 Florida State he has bounced back to the tune of 23pts 5 ast and 3 rbs and knocked down 5 three pointers.
Remember one game or two games will never make or break you if you are a legitimate NBA player.

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantfor a second I thought u meant to say "this site is Based"(which it is thanks to Mcdunkindonuts)
Now I think based off potential…Davis,Drummond and Perry Jones are the Top 3 picks…after that guys like Barnes, T.Jones, Kidd-Gilchrist,Sullinger, Miller,Rivers,Teague and Kabongo have to be in front of Lamb come draft day as well..Lamb is long and has a good offensive skillset to be honest he’s being overhyped because of Sites like this and the fact he play’s for UCONN…Lamb will not be a top 5 pick…U can quote the Scare Crow on that…He’s not even at the level Evan Turner was when he got drafted 2nd overall by my Sixers…Turner had point guard passing ability with a Sg/Sf’s Body, he was a proven Iron Man and was The College POY…Lamb is strictly a Sg and will need to put on 20 pounds to have an ‘NBA" body(although lots of crack heads play in the NBA) Turner can still play 1 through 3 and defend the other Teams Best Player(re watch the Sixers vs. Heat series, he was in charge of defending Wade and Lebron when on the court and did very well against them both)…Turner is due for a break out season in Philadelphia and was looked at as a Bust Contender last year…If Lamb is taken as high as some of the site have him going(Looking at ou ARAN,lol) he will be a Bust Contender too…I like Lamb’s overall package of lenght and shooting ability but he’s not as polished as most Sg’s taken top 5…add in the fact he’ll be a one position player coming out(he doesn’t have combo Guard skills, yet…)…How do you take him top 5…

kdtriv01ParticipantYou all gave me negative comments for what I posted back in November. I think my point and my post has been proven. Lamb didn’t deserve to be listed number 2 over all and Drummond had no business being ranked number 1 overall. You may not have liked my viewpoint, but it looks like I was right. just saying.
