providencefriars1Participant11/23Game I watched- Memphis 88 at* Georgetown 91Here was another terrific game to start the college hoops season. The game was back and forth throughout but a late three by Jason Clark sealed the deal. I have liked Clark since last year, and this year is the Hoyas main perimeter threat and has really scored the ball well of late. Henry Sims also had a terrific game for Georgetown. He made a few great backdoor passes from their halfcourt offense and made the most of his touches scoring wise too. I was impressed by the fluidity of the Hoyas offense, if they execute like that for the rest of the season they will be one hell of a team. Coming in to this year, I had Georgetown 8th or 9th in the Big East, but after their Maui performance I think I might move them up to 6 or 7 jumping Villanova and Cincinnati.Memphis simply does not look like a top 10 team right now. They purposely play at a fast pace but often times they go too fast and end up wasting possessions. Memphis seems pretty undisciplined and makes many stupid mistakes like bad passes on the break with numbers or settling for bad shots. The ultimate example occurred on Tuesday against Tennessee where Witherspoon thought the game was over so he grabbed the rebound and ran up the court and was called for traveling. Barton is great in control, but he like the rest of the team plays too frenetic at times. Witherspoon gives inconsistent performances and at times inconsistent effort. Tarik Black seems to be a nice player but he can rarely play since he is always in foul trouble. In this game he only picked up one foul in the first half but still ended up fouling out. Thomas is not ready to contribute at a high level, and Jackson is relied upon too much to control the offense and made a few questionable plays in this game. I think Memphis should be ranked around 20, their top 10 rank was just too high. Results:Virginia Tech 58 at* Syracuse 69Duke 68 at* Kansas 61Memphis 88 at* Georgetown 91SDSU 61 at Arizona 57Richmond 58 at* Rutgers 53Stanford 82 at* Oklahoma St 57St Joes 99 at Iona 104St Mary’s 58 at Denver 70Vermont 65 at Old Dominion 63Campbell 77 at Iowa 61Oregon 83 at Nebraska 76Illinois 63 at* Illinois St 59Marquis Teague, PG Kentucky- 13pts, 5ast, 3reb, 2stlTerrence Jones, PF Kentucky- 17pts, 8reb, 3blkAnthony Davis, C Kentucky- 12pts, 6reb, 4blk, 4/4fgMichael Kidd-Gilchrist, SF Kentucky- 15pts, 9reb, 3stlJared Sullinger, PF Ohio St- 17pts, 12reb, 8/10fgAaron Craft, PG Ohio St- 13pts, 8ast, 3stlWilliam Buford, SG Ohio St- 23pts, 6ast, 3rebWill Barton, SG Memphis- 22pts, 4reb, 2ast, 2blkJoe Jackson, PG Memphis- 20pts, 6reb, 3astHenry Sims, C Georgetown- 24pts, 8reb, 5ast, 10/17fgJason Clark, SG Georgetown- 26pts, 3reb, 2stlRyan Kelly, PF Duke- 17pts, 3reb, 3astMason Plumlee, C Duke- 17pts, 12reb, 2blkThomas Robinson, PF Kansas- 16pts, 15reb, 1stl, 1blkJeff Withey, C Kansas- 14pts, 10reb, 2blkTyshawn Taylor, PG Kansas- 17pts, 11to’sJarell Eddie, G Virginia Tech- 17pts, 5ast, 4reb, 2blkErick Green, PG Virginia Tech- 14pts, 5reb, 2ast, 3stlQuincy Acy, F Baylor- 10pts, 11reb, 6blkQuincy Miller, SF Baylor- 17pts, 11reb, 6astCory Jefferson, F Baylor- 10pts, 7reb, 7blkZack Novak, G Michigan- 22pts, 3reb, 7/8fgTim Hardaway, SG Michigan- 20pts, 4reb, 4astTrae Golden, PG Tennessee- 17pts, 7ast, 5rebJordan Mcrae, G Tennessee- 25pts, 5stl, 9/12fgSolomon Hill, F Arizona- 14pts, 9rebJesse Perry, PF Arizona- 9pts, 11rebKris Joseph, SF Cuse- 20pts, 10reb, 3stlCJ Fair, F Cuse- 12pts, 10reb, 5/8fgBrandon Triche, PG Cuse- 18pts, 6ast, 7/12fgScott Machado, PG Iona- 33pts, 10ast, 5reb, 4stlMike Glover, F Iona- 34pts, 15rebCJ Aiken, F St Joes- 19pts, 9reb, 4blk, 8/12fgCarl Jones, G St Joes- 25pts, 4reb, 3ast, 6to’sLangston Galloway, G St Joes- 17pts, 5reb, 4astJosh Owens, C Stanford- 21pts, 5reb, 3stlChasson Randle, PG Stanford- 17pts, 5rebRob Jones, PF St Mary’s- 21pts, 11reb, 2blkMatthew Delladova, PG St Mary’s- 20pts, 3reb, 3ast, 6to’sLeBryan Nash, SF Oklahoma St- 16pts, 3rebGlen Rice Jr, SF Georgia Tech- 23pts, 6reb, 3stl, 10-12fgDraymond Green, F Michigan St- 18pts, 8reb, 2ast, 3stlTim Frazier, PG Penn St- 26pts, 11ast, 4rebNick Wright, PF Old Dominion- 24pts, 10reb, 3blkJarrod Jones, PF Ball St- 26pts, 6reb, 2stlChristawn Hopkins, SF Butler- 22pts, 7/14fgAndre Robinson, SF Colorado- 11pts, 13reb, 4blk, 5/9fgMike Lyons, SG Air Force- 31pts, 7reb, 3stlThanksgivingMinnesota 86 at* DePaul 85Charleston 63 at* UCF 74New Mexico 76 at* Santa Clara 79Harvard 75 at* Utah 47Arizona St 44 at* Fairfield 55Oklahoma 74 at Washington St 59Bernard James, C Florida St- 9pts, 7reb, 5blkMichael Snaer, SG Florida St- 18pts, 10reb, 3astOkaro White, F Florida St- 11pts, 11reb, 5to’sBrian Conklin, PF St Louis- 18pts, 4reb, 7/11fgKwamain Mitchell, PG St Louis- 20pts, 4astKeith Clanton, PF UCF- 28pts, 14reb, 3blk, 5to’sMarcus Jordan, SG UCF- 17pts, 6ast, 5/9fgRodney Williams, SF Minnesota- 18pts, 5reb, 7/9fgTrevor Mbakwe, PF Minnesota- 16pts, 12reb, 6/7fgMaalik Wayns, PG Nova- 23pts, 7ast, 1to’sMouphtaou Yarou, C Nova- 11pts, 10rebAndre Drummond, C UConn- 9pts, 5reb, 4/8fgShabazz Napier, PG UConn- 23pts, 7ast, 3stl, 5to’sJeremy Lamb, SG UConn- 23pts, 6reb, 8/13fgTravis Mckie, F Wake Forest- 20pts, 6reb, 2blkCJ Harris, G Wake Forest- 18pts, 6reb, 4astKevin Foster, SG Santa Clara- 26pts, 4reb, 4astEvan Roquemore, SG Santa Clara- 24pts, 5ast, 4rebAndrew Lawrence, PG CofC- 14pts, 10ast, 2to’sMatt Kavanaugh, C Dayton- 15pts, 13reb, 6/9fgTrent Lockett, SG Arizona St- 15pts, 7reb, 6/11fgRakim Sanders, SG Fairfield- 21pts, 7reb, 2stlDrew Gordon, PF New Mexico- 11pts, 10reb, 2blkKeith Wright, PF Harvard- 13pts, 7reb, 3blk, 5/6fgTop 25 teams- UNC
