I think they definitely should draft a big man, like a Thabeet or a jordan hill, and if they have they 1st pick they should obviously take blake griffin. and then later in the draft they should draft a guard. doesnt matter if it is a point guard or a shooting guard, because russel westbrook is such an amazing combo guard he can play the one or the two. so im thinking the thunder go a tyreke evans, a terrance williams, a johnny flynn or a tywon lawson if they are still there.

or the thunder can go guard 1st and pick like a james hardon, demor derozan, gerald henderson, brandon jennings, or maybe even a chase budinger. and go big man later on in the 1st round with a tyler hansbrough, or a a patrick patterson.

however in this years draft the number of talented and amazing big men are limited. with only about 6 or 7 guys can make big impacts as rookies in the NBA. so i strongly believe go big man 1st and then go guard. so i say they go jordan hill, and a johnny flynn. as there two 1st round picks.

Obviously if they get #1, they should go with Blake Griffin. I would’ve said Ricky Rubio because they need a playmaker and Russell Westbrook is not that, but with Griffin being a homestate local, there’s no way they would choose Rubio over him. It’s also a good PR move, to get more fans to come to their games. Other than Griffin, other good fits for their lottery pick would be Hasheem Thabeet, Jordan Hill, or Cole Aldrich (if he enters). With their other first round pick James Anderson (if he enters), Austin Daye, Terrence Williams, AJ Price, and Wayne Ellington,.

They need a Center, they tried to adress it when they wanted to get Tyson Chandler, but didn’t go through. They have a nice core in Durant, Westbrook, and Jeff Green. If they some how land the number 1 pick than it’s best player available, and that would be hometown product Blake Griffin. They would hit a homerun on the court as well with the fans, and would give the franchise boost. If they don’t get the first pick then likely Hasheem Thabeet would likely be the answer . Hard to say other options, but all the big name point guards, and probably a rotational 2 guard.

Hometown Blake Griffin would be the best pick for them. Throw him in with Durant, Green, and Westbrook and you have a great young nucleus and a up and coming team.

The Thunder need to draft big and define Kevin Durant as a Small Forward and Jeff Green as either a Power Forward or a 6th Man. I don’t think the team really needs a point guard with the play from Westbrook and the emergance of Sefolosha who is worthy of holding down a starting position in the NBA. Jordan Hill makes more sense for me than Blake Griffen, but because he’s a Homer the Thunder would be very reclutant to pass on such a big name.

Jordan Hill makes more sence than Blake Griffin?? Blake Griffin makes sence to anyone. More than anyone else in the draft. Take a second and look at what you just said. These guys both play the same position and Blake is better at it. He rebounds more, scores more, and wins more. How does the 5th or 6th prospect make more sence than the 1st? Especially to one of the worst teams in the league! Ask anyone who knows basketball who they would rather have and 99% of them would say Blake. I don’t care what team has the number one pick they are not going to take Hill over Griffin. It could be the Wiz, Cavs, Kings, Lakers, Spurs, Celtics, and even the Thunder, it doesn’t matter. Dumb comment.

Doesn’t Green play the 4? I thought their line-up was
    Pg-Westbrook
    Sg- Seflosha
    Sf-Durant
    Pf-Green
    C-Kristic

    right?
If they draft Griffin, Durant would have to be the 2 and we all know that wouldn’t be good… would it?

Green Plays PF/SF but he’s better at SF… He’s just to short and not storng enough… he could be a grest spark off the bench

there is a decent chance that the thunder is going to get the number 1 pick. but they are probably going to pick anywhere from 3-8. i can see them go thabeet too. which i think makes the most sense behind griffin. thabeet is a legit center who is a monster defensively, a great rebounder, a little raw offensively but can get the job done. and has a lot of potential. who looks like a baby mutombo. and even tho green is a little under sized for the 4 position he is still a very good player and plays the 4 almost the same way antawn jamison plays it. so the thunder in a couple years if they keep adding to their core, maybe become one of the more dominant teams in the NBA.

I think they should get griffin if they get the 1st pick of course, but if they don’t they should trade the pick for an above average frontcourt guy or swingman. Sefolosha is a 6th man to me..so I think mike miller or a lamar odom type would be a good player to pick up.

They could use a back-up pg. too. This would be for the later first round pick.
I hear Jeff Teague’s stock is falling and he may be available that far down. The only problem with him would be the fact that he is more a Shooting Guard then Point and that is the same problem with Westbrook.

I’m sorry but my comment was for me that Hill makes more sense than Griffen. Maybe not to the league, or half of the people on this site, but I’m not sold on Blake Griffen and mosty likely never will be. I’m about as sold on Griffen as Jorrye is on Rubio. Jordan Hill has the potential to be a star in this league where I just see Griffen being a double double guy averaging 14-12. Blake benefits so much from this being such a down year in college basketball that He’s really the go to pick by default. Much like bogut going number one overall a few years back I think Griffen will provide the same mistake to any top 5 gm drafting him. He’s not a star nor is he a centerpiece to any franchise, but he can be a solid 4th, maybe 3rd option on a team. I just think 3-5 years down the road the team that drafts Griffen will regret not picking Hill instead, but thats just me. Honestly Thabeet is a pick worth considering, but with all the centers the Thunder/Sonics have drafted over the years it’s just that much of a gamble doing the same. How well have Swift, Sene, Ibanka, and Petro Turned out? They shoud draft a Power Forward and I think the better of two picks is Hill over Griffen.

Even if it is a down year in college basketball, how come Hill isn’t putting up the numbers that Griffen is? (Griffen-22pts 14 reb, Hill-18pts 11reb.)nIf he is a great player, not saying that he won’t turn into one, why isn’t he taking advantage and posting huge numbers? Personally I’m not sold on Hill. His team is not that good and he isn’t even their best player. Griffen will end up like Amare because he will develope a midrange game and change some franchise like the Kings or the Wiz.

In a perfect world, they would take blake griffin, but then again who wouldnt. That what be such a fun and promising up and coming team with the inside out game with KD and blake, and jeff green playing the 4 and russell westbrook running the team.

But, if not blake, i think james harden would be a perfect fit. You already have the go to player in KD, and westbrook is more of a scoring point, while harden doesnt mind being the faciliator and playmaker. He can also guard the opposing team’s best wing player because he won’t be as worn out from doing everything on the offensive end like he had to do at ASU.

With the 1st pick, u have options, the young big 3 is so versatile, a combo forward, a combo SF-SG, a combo guard…
For me durant is the SF, green is a SF, westbrook is a true combo…u should take at C-PF-SG-PG.
So thabeet, hill(griffin not available), harden(u don’t need henderson), or rubio…
The only PG i draft with their 1st pick is rubio, the playmaker, the talented guy, so westbrook plays more SG, with thabo becoming back up.
I don’t smell hill, smell a better version of mikki moore !!! LOL…harden should be the scorer they need at the 2 spot as a starter or from the bench as an offensive booster, they have the hustler, the doug christie from switzerland to back up or start.
They missed the fake chandler, i think they’ll go at the next diop-dalembert, thabeet…green keeping his PF position.
With the spurs pick and if they pick a big with the 1st, i smell westbrook’s buddy from UCLA, or maybe they’ll try a shooter at the 2 like ellington(solid since 15 days).

Green is a SF that has to play PF, so they need a guy that can bang in the post. Griffin or Hill.

Also, they need a PG. Westbrook is SG pretending to be a PG. Rubio/Jennings

Griffin, Rubio, or Thabeet, all 3 would be great in OKC, depending on which pick they get
