TRC1991ParticipantHere is an early look at my top 20 prospects for the 2012 nba draft which I expect to be one of the most gifted classes in many years
1) Jared Sullinger, PF, Ohio State
– 20.5 ppg, 9.8 rpg, 60% shooting, truly an NBA 4 has the body and skill set to be an instant impact for any team
2) Harrison Barnes, SF, North Carolina
– He’s the best player on the best team. Harrison’s scoring has been down this season but his ability to put the ball in the basket in a bevy of ways has to impress u.
3) Anthony Davis, PF, Kentucky
– His length is incredible, he’s not done growing, and his defensive ability is inarguable. I would like to see an extra 20 lbs. on his frame though.
4) Andre Drummond, C, UCONN
– It’s early, and I dont think a lackluster year will cause him to return but his #’s are underwhelming right now and I think 4th is a good spot for him at this point
5) Jeremy Lamb, SG, UCONN
– He’s grown both physically and talent-wise. He is fun to watch and super gifted on offense AND defense. His length is awfully impressive for a 2 guard.
6) Perry Jones, SF/PF, Baylor
– We havent gotten a chance to see him play yet but he’s got lamar odom’s body and hes physically ready to play at the next level.
7) Quincy Miller, SF, Baylor
– Miller has scored the ball at an extremely impressive rate so far this year. It’s frightening to know just how good he can be. Stock is currently rising.
8) Brad Beal, SG, Florida
– Beal has looked great early on this year aside from the woeful 3 point shooting. But he’s proven he can rebound (5.0) to go with his 16.3 ppg
9) John Henson, PF, UNC
– We all knew he could block and contest shots, rebound, and be a transition weapon but his post game has grown to a brand new level. It’s awesome to see him progress.
10) Terrence Ross, SG, Washington
– NBA body (6’7” 195) and his stroke is perfect. He was known as a driver and scorer in the paint but hes proven early this year that he can stroke from deep (38%)
11) Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, SF, Kentucky
– MKG does everything, and most of it is done at a high level. He’s got an NBA body already and if he could only develop a consistent outside shot he’d be too hard to guard.
12) Thomas Robinson, PF, Kansas
– T-Rob is a man in the paint. He’s not afraid of contact and he loves finishing strong around the rim. His 16 and 11 so far have been well-earned.
13) Austin Rivers, SG, Duke
– I’m still unsure of what position he really is, and he could possbily return next season but you cant deny his ability to create and make plays for both himself and teammates
14) Doron Lamb, SG, Kentucky
– Lamb doesnt wow you with anything but he can stroke and plays like a veteran. I like the smooth feel to his game.
15) Tyler Zeller, C, UNC
– A true center, he runs the court well and is very talented with his back to the basket. He could be an NBA starter today.
16) Terrence Jones, PF, Kentucky
– Jones hasn’t had to score the ball as much this year, and it appears hes bulked up quite a bit, but hes still versatile and can hurt you from all over the court.
17) Kendall Marshall, PG, UNC
– He hasn’t scored the ball very much this year, and that may hurt his stock, but he’s a true floor general and gets everyone involved.
18) John Jenkins, SG, Vanderbilt
– Pure shooter can really get it going when he’s in a rhythm. I think he could surprise some people at the next level with his sneaky dribble drive ability.
19) Shabazz Napier, PG, UCONN
– There has been a total of 0 college point guards who have came out stronger than Napier. (18 ppg, 6 rpg, 6 apg, 2 spg, 53% shooting)
20) Myck Kabongo, PG, Texas
– Kabongo has struggled early with to’s (not to the extent of teague whom i dont have in my top 20 for a reason) but you cant argue with his ability to run the point
just missed:
PF- Trevor Mbakwe
PG- Marquis Teague
SG- William Buford

M-DYMESParticipantDo you think Sullinger will be most effective at the NBA level?
Personally, I wouldn’t take him that early. I see alot of shots in his game that are going to get sent into the bleachers IMO. I love his demeanor and his work ethic (non-stop motor for a guy his size), but I don’t trust his prospects to become a great NBA player compared to other guys in this class.
He could prove me wrong, and I don’t think he’ll be a bust. Just is doesn’t shout out superstar or star to me at the next level.

r377ParticipantI like Sullinger alot – who is to say he won’t go number 1 ? There are prob 5 or 6 guys that could go number 1. No one had Derrick Williams going at 2 this time last year.
I don’t think they give Sullinger enough of the ball. This guy is one of the best players in the nation, I think he could average an extra 4 or 5 ppg if had more of the ball…
