shipargosParticipantHas anyone noticed how good is playing, his body is beginning to grow and so his game, he looks like one f the best centers in college right now, any possibility to move him to the 2012 draft?

JNixonParticipantI’d say 2013 is when he should really look to come out. He ha numbers now, but its important to remember that Illinois hasn’t played anyone of note yet. Wait until the conference slate to really get a read on him.

JunkYardDogParticipanthe needs time to take his game to the next level… but he shows great improvement. He should be a great top 10 pick in 2013 if he keeps on working.
I’d really like to see him playing against steven adams…

RUDEBOY_ParticipantYeah.i’ve been impressed with Leonard’s game every since watching him in high school..He has very good perimeter skills for a 7 footer,he runs the floor well, has great length..
I think if he comes out this year…Teams like Boston, Miami and the Spurs will consider it a steal to draft him in the late 1st round..Becuz they’ll be getting a player that’ll be a top 10 pick in 2013…

peachbucketParticipantWhat’s really impressive is his shooting touch for such a big guy (77% ft on year). Combined with his length and athleticism he should be able to develop a nice midrange and pick and pop game at the next level similar to Ilgauskas and Duncan. His only major weakness right now is strength and lack of experience, especially lower body, but that big frame should fill out with time in the weight room…he still may be growing.
If he continues to play like this in the big ten, he will be a top 10 pick in the 2012 draft…that is if there is a 2012 draft.

HitsterParticipantHe seems to be considered likely to stay for his junior year but if he did declare then surely a contender might consider him a nice steal as a lot of them do have ageing backcourts and he could be allowed to develop for a year or two via D-League and bench. He appears to be a good athlete for his size with the ability to run the floor but for a 7 footer his rebounding stats were not great in his limited playing time last year. I’ve also seen noted somewhere that he is a confidence player whose head can drop if things go wrong and perhaps therefore playing regular minutes at college for this year and next might be the best long term idea for him.
Even if he stayed for his senior year he would still only be 22 years old by the time of the 2014 draft so he can take his time and hone his game especially the mental side of it to make himself a much more complete NBA prospect for when he declares as with his size and fundamentals he has a lot going for him.
