jaysmith1987ParticipantOn the next mock draft i think Anthony Davis moves to 1. Jared sullinger 2. And Jeremy Lamb stays at 3. Even though I think by the end of the year Lamb has a shot at number 1. Also I think Napier moves into first round hes been blowing up this year looking like kemba walker and has a triple double and was pretty close to another one.I think he be the best point guard right now because he can score rebound and pass and play defense he has a complete game and lets not forget before kemba had his big year he was projected late first round so watch out for napier. Only knOck on napier is height but so was kembas an chris paul isnt 6″4 but im not comparing him to chris paul but i do see a Ty lawson type.

mikeyvthedonParticipantThings stay pretty similar to where they are now. If Andre Drummond slips, I doubt it is past 2 or 3 at the least. He is having growing pains, but he will improve as the season goes on. Players like Drummond do not grow on trees, passing on him is taking even more of a risk than taking him. I really like the top 6 right now, maybe in a slightly different order, but I think they stand pat. From 7 on, I could see some changes. Especially when Perry Jones III comes back and I doubt Mike-Kidd Gilchrist is a type of player that slips out of the top 10.
Shabazz Napier is having a great year, but there are a few more knocks on him than just his height. He had a fantastic game today and has looked great thus far. He looked really solid last year. However, he is also slight, and while he did a fantastic job of ball control today, his TO’s are slightly high as well. He is shooting well to start the year, but he shot 37% from the field last season. He might be a late first round pick, but I could see him slowing down slightly during more physical Big East play.
Jeremy Lamb has the size and length you want, plus the ability to creat his own shot, which is something Harrison Barnes sort of struggles with. Napier is quick, but he has more issues than only his size, and while he seems like a definite prospect to look out for, I would not be surprised if he were more of a work in progress than a 2012 first round pick.

jaysmith1987ParticipantDrummond is definately an elite talent but i doubt he even comes out this year. He needs more seasoning he had the tools but another year at uconn will be his break out year I dont thinl he left high school early to enter 2012 draft i thinl he beleived the new cba would call for 2yrs of college an the last big to come out of high school with drummond potebtial was bj mullens and after a so-so freshman year he went late first. Yes drummond still looks like he can break out but your not a top ten pick averaging 5pts and 5rbs in college. Lets not forget the player he compares to the most Amare wenth 12.

r377ParticipantAt this early stage last year. Barnes was 1, Perry Jones 2 and Williams was about 8-10.
So I wouldn’t be too concerned with it all, there will be a lot of changes to come….

OhCanada-ParticipantJaysmith why not just make your own mockdraft and update that one? It is actaully a very fun feature this site has. Currently my lotto picks look like this.
1-Andre Drummond
-His size, athletisism, skill, and mobility is too much to pass up.-Drummond has been struggling early, although he is adapting to Big East basketball, and an early season injury.
2-Jeremy Lamb
-Jeremy has proved thus far he is this drafts most prolific scorer (Quincy Miller may take that spot). The NBA lacks good young SG prospects with hieght and length, Lamb is one of the best SG prospects of the decade.-Lamb’s handles and strength definitely need to improve before the draft if he wants to be selected second.
3-Anthony Davis
-His defensive prowess, natural feel for the game, and drive is great. He has tons of skill for a kid his size and is a freak of nature.-Davis hasnt shown the abillity to create his own offense consistantly, and hasnt really created a forte offensively. He needs to work on his post moves and strength desperately.
4-Harrison Barnes
-All around good player with prototypical SF size, and athletisism. Could easily end up being selected 1st overall.-If he can improve his quickness and dribbling to the point where he is capable of playing SG he definitely has a shot at the top spot.
5-Jared Sullinger
-Sullinger is a sure thing. He is a lock to average at least 17-ppg and 10-rpg in the NBA in his prime.-Sullinger’s athletisism is the reason why he will get underrated in this years draft. Also he has very little defensive upside.
6-Perry Jones
-Based on size, talent, versatility and athletisism alone Perry Jones is a lock for the Top 10 of this draft. im very excited to see how he returns for Baylor, he is easily Top 3 talent.-Jones needs to find out what position he wants to play throughout his career. At the very least he should attempt to play the frontcourt for Baylor (since Miller has arrved), polish his post skills, rebounding skills, and overall intensity.
7-Quincy Miller
-I am actaully a very strong believer in Quincy Miller. He can score in so many different ways and I think Miller will only get better as the year goes on and even when Jones gets back.-Miller is number seven on my list due to his lack of bulk, and the fact that his defense is terrible.I really hope he steps it up defensively because there is nothing more annoying then seeing guys like Kevin Martin, and Andrea Bargnani get paid for playing on one side of the court.
8-Terrence Ross
-Ross is a great athlete, and a true sharpshooter from the wing. He also has great size for the NBA gaurd position. His potential is huge.-Another elite prospect that struggles with creating offense. Maybe a step to slow to be an elite scorer at the NBA level.
9-Marquis Teague
-Extremely quick, great athlete, and a very good body. Can knock down the three, finish in the lane, and make outstanding passes.-He has a great package although he lacks the things that makes great NBA players. Fundimentals, poise, and consistancy. Teague is very cocky, tries to do too much and forces the issue which more then less gains negative results. This should just be his early season growing pains and it seems he is learning the hard way. Marquis can make you drool and make you bang your head on the wall all in the same play.
10-Micheal Kidd-Gilchrist
-Mike is the player every single team in the NBA needs to win. He does everything good and is a great defender at the same time. Reminds me of Ron Artest with more skills.-That interview was ugly…Im sick of hearing about how bad Mike’s form is, if the shot falls leave it alone. He defenitely needs to become a more prolific scorer if he wants to move up on this list.
11-John Henson
-Great help defender, improved his man defence by gaining some much needed weight, and a freak athlete with superb length.-Seems to be developing a spot up mid range jumper, and a bit of a faceup game…although both are one dimensional and need improvement. Weight will be a huge problem in the NBA.
12-Terrence Jones
-The epitimy of versatility. Jones has skills that very few 6’8 250 pound men ever have.-Despite his great skill, and despite what the media says about him fixing his attitude he is still a huge risk prospect in my eyes. He maybe displaying leadership but he is doing it in a cocky way, he is also allowing his teamates to be cocky which is not wha a true leader does. I think 250 is too big for him and he should settle into the 235-240 range to have a true NBA SF position. HUGE TWEENER ALERT.
13-Myck Kabongo
– Kabongo is a great leader, playmaker, and defender. One of the best floor generals in the league and should only improve.-I see him as a carbon copy of Rajon Rondo which is a good and bad thing. This could change if he improves his shooting, finishing, and strength.
14-Thomas Robinson
*Dont Sleep On*
-Dorian Finney Smith
-Khris Middleton
-Trevor Mbakwe
-CJ Leslie
-Andre Roberson
*2013 Draft Projected*
-Austin Rivers
-Brad Beal
-Lebryan Nash
-Tony Wroten
-Josiah Turner

bdiddy5115ParticipantMine aren’t too similar to the site’s so I may get some thumbs down. But then again, they are constantly changing.
1. Andre Drummond [He’ll gain poise and comfort as the year progresses]
2. Anthony Davis
3. Quincy Miller [3-7 are very close. I love Miller’s skillset and mentality at his size. I know I have him higher than most]
4. Jeremy Lamb [Has really impressed me with his growth. I’d like to see him make his teammates better though]
5. Perry Jones III [I’m curious to see what strides he has made]
6. Harrison Barnes
7. Jared Sullinger
8. Brad Beal
9. Myck Kabongo [If he can show some growth in his poise, jumper and put on a few pounds this year]
10. Terrence Jones
11. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist
12. Thomas Robinson
13. Austin Rivers
Didn’t include:
– Marquis Teague [love his physical tools. Want to see some maturity in running an offense]
– McAdoo, Wroten, Adams [more likely to go in 2013]
– Nash [has struggled thus far]
– Ross [like his mix of length and skills, but I’d like to see some off the dribble ability]

mikeyvthedonParticipantDude, who is saying he is going to average what he is now over an entire season? Not to mention that Amare Stoudemire went 9th, and as we found out, that was too low. He may not have come out of the gates blazing, but I still think their is definite upside to think he will be better as the season progresses. It might even take him time to develop in the NBA, but if you draft him at 9, there is a fantastic chance he will make more of an impact than a majority of the players picked in front of him in a year or two (if not all of them, which is why he is being talked about as the #1 pick).
BJ Mullens averaged 8.8 and 4.7 in the Big 10 in about half of a game. Andre is a little lower right now, but I am guessing that guy is going to be much more of a factor than BJ, at the very least in rebounding and blocking shots. He has seemed to pick up fouls at a very high rate, but the guy is built like a tank and is a freakish athlete. Big East play might not be kind to people low on muscle, but that is not Andre’s issue. He obviously has some ways to go as far as skill development, but I think he will match-up with anyone he plays after a few more reps.
I think he absolutely plans to enter the 2012 Draft, and if he decided not to with a new CBA in place that had the same rules (which, more than likely, will be the same as the current rules on draft eligibility), I would be shocked. Barring injury, he is a mortal lock for being a top 5 pick. Players like Andre Drummond do not come around very often, and while it is certainly possible that he may not develop into the player everyone sees him becoming, if you pass on him in the top 5, you are putting more risk on your job than taking him in the top 5. No matter how much the NBA has changed, having a player with Drummond’s potential capabilities could eventually make your team a major contender. Championships are still won with size, defense and rebounding, which Andre has to spare.

OllstarParticipantPossible he stays. But who would stay another year in college if you are the likely first pick. Kyrie probably could of stayed another year at Duke but why? He was 1st overall. UCONN doesn’t put out to many one and dones.

HitsterParticipantWith such a deep draft, players will bounce around the mocks especially if Aran updates as regularly as he usually does whilst the college season is in progress.
Also I can see players moving between years on a lot of mock drafts as the strong returning class impacts on freshmen prospects and vice versa.
As another thread says a lot of expected one and done guys could well return and even some 2011-12 returnees could continue beyond this season and use up more college eligibility.
I have not even thought about a 2012 mock yet as it will change daily and we will no doubt see someone having a breakout season like Jimmer last year and maybe cracking the lottery.
