HaleParticipantMichael Kidd-Gilchrist was the #1 prospect in the nation coming into his senior season. Austin Rivers and Anthony Davis both received far more hype over the past year but MKG is one of the best prospects in bball imo (certainly better then Rivers). He does really everything well other then shoot and it’s not like he is a terrible shooter. He has played pretty good in his debut (although Marist isn’t really great compeition). Where do you guys have him ranked as a top prospect? Personally I have him top 5.

ilike.panochasParticipantHe’s a solid prospect, but I Don’t project him in the top 5, he’s borderline top 10 to me. I have (in no particular order) Drummond, Perry Jones, Harrison Barnes, Sullinger, Terrence Jones, Anthony Davis, Quincy Miller ahead of Gilchrist as of right now.

HaleParticipantWhy do you like T. Jones over MKG? Just curious.

WizardofOzParticipantYup. He’s played very good so far. He plays with so much heart and tenacity. He’s just gotta brush up his interviewing skills lol(search "Michael Gilchrist interview" on YouTube).

omphalosParticipantI’m very high on Gilchrist, but it’s hard to say he’s top 5 in this draft with so many ridiculous prospects. That said, he could well be a franchise player in the NBA for some lucky team.

xavier328ParticipantHis going to be a hack of a role player at the next level….A great defender and can do it all…might not be a top 10 pick though.

HaleParticipantI can’t think of ten better prospects.

ilike.panochasParticipantThe reason I have Terrence Jones ahead of Gilchrist is because I just think Jones will be such a mismatch nightmare (6’8 250lbs w/ superb perimeter skills) in the NBA. Gilchrist should be a solid defender in the NBA, but I question how he will do offensively.

HaleParticipantI like Jones a lot, been a fan of his since I saw him play Josh Smith’s team in HS. I still prefer MKG though. I believe he could be like Andre Iguodala in the NBA.

uknationParticipantYes underrated. McAdoo is overrated. Good player with a good future but after the Burger and Jordan game people think he’s better than he is. He’s a PF with skills and post moves not a SF. Had a ok game today but shouldn’t be a top 5 pick

WizardofOzParticipantI agree with McAdoo being overrated, and he’ll be a PF in the NBA. He played well in the All-Star games, but the only things those are good for are showcasing athleticism.

HaleParticipantI don’t think McAdoo even enters this year and if he does he wouldn’t be in my top ten.

Demarcus OnealParticipantHe’s good but seriously anyone could look good agaisnt Marist
0 - Posted on: Fri, 11/11/2011 - 8:22pm #607854

uknationParticipantMKG looks good against just about anyone because he’s skilled and plays hard. Just about every team played a team worst than them. Good players do what they are suppossed to do against lower comp. Even when good teams play bad teams you notice the players who aren’t that good don’t have a very good game? They have average games at best.

omphalosParticipant@uknation; could you tell me what the story was with Terrence Jones? Didn’t catch the game but the box score was pretty disappointing, I thought he’d be the top scorer for UK for sure.

butidonthavemoney>>Broke curfew and got into a car crash last night.
>>Coach Cal pulls him from starting lineup.
>>Looks sluggish when he’s in the game.
>>Eventually aggravates a preexisting hip-flexor injury. That’s the short version of the Terrence Jones story.

uknationParticipantCame off the bench, I think Cal was upset with him for being out so late the night before when he got in that car accident. Once he got in it took him a min to get warmed up then he scored quick then coasted and ran the offense the rest of the night. Didn’t need him tonight but he will definitely be needed when we play KU. Need him to body up with T.Robinson

JunkYardDogParticipantwhatever…. there is so much ceep in that draft especially on the wing : barnes, davis, mcadoo, p.jones, t.jones, miller, middleton, mbakwe, robinson… gilchrist. WAAAAAA….
If I were GM I would do everything I can to trade (when they will be able to…) and take draft picks between 10 and 25 wheer you can land some very good players without giving too much. They should have already done that.

kobyzParticipantMichael Kidd-Gilchrist remind me Shawn Marion but with better one on one skilles, maybe some Caron Butler in him, he may not be a top 10 prospect potential wise, but i think that in the draft he would be pick in the top 7 due to his complete game and the chances to rich his talent as he has great determination, will and drive.
