Asseco Prokom announced Wednesday that it released forward Alonzo Gee from the club effective immediately. According to a press release from the club, Gee was dropped “as a consequence of breach of obligations specified in contract.”

In three Turkish Airlines Euroleague games with the Polish champs, Gee averaged 11 points and 6.3 rebounds.

If this cut was indeed about missing practice, then it should be a huge wake up call for these Americans playing overseas right now and in the future:

    YOU AIN’T IN KANSAS ANYMORE!

Ball in Europe is definitely not what our Americans are used to. If you can’t adapt to their ways, then Alonzo Gee is what you’ll become. I know that the players overseas right now are trying to show the league that the NBA isn’t the only place to play ball, but stuff like this Alonzo Gee incident jsut adds fuel to the Owner’s engine.

The owners must be laughing their a$$es off at this incident.

The thing is that he just left the club without even saying enything to anyone and went back to usa, can u imagine that ? It’s not like you’re a dishwasher who is getting hundreds of bucks, you’re a basketball player at the very high level and getting hundreds of thousands dollars per year, so it definetely a sucky way to leave your job. I’ve heard that all he did to inform about his departure was the text message in his couch mobile phone lol
