     One of the TOP players in the class of 2012…SHAQ GOODWIN just commited to Memphis!!!

    Huge pickup for the Tigers considering they haven’t really signed any big time players for next year yet. Goodwin is also a big time football player and Memphis is rumored to be one of the only schools that would let Shaq play both sports.

    This might mean that JARNELL STOKES…another big time recruit from class of 2012…who lives in Memphis might go somewhere else…since both he and Goodwin play the same position….power forward.

    But, in the mean time, Josh Pastner keeps getting things done at Memphis. To be honest, I would not think it was out of the question that Shaq Goodwin and Jarnell Stokes could play together for the Tigers. I know they are shorter than typical Centers, but they both have necessary bulk and I know Stokes has a ridiculous wing span as well. Would not say that this spells complete doom for Stokes going to Memphis, or Alex Poythress for that matter who plays the same position as their other signing Damien Wilson (SF). Seeing how well YOMCA played this summer and the obvious chemistry between Stokes and Poythress, not to mention them both being from Tennessee, just seemd like the Tigers had the inside edge. Would definitely be a bummer for Pastner if he let both of them get away, but at least he has a big, athletic 4 with major potential in Goodwin. Guessing that Goodwin is probably not going to be playing football for Memphis (Big time TE/DE prospect as well), but I guess you never know.

     If I had to guess….I think STOKES is going to Kentucky and POYTHRESS is going to Vanderbilt…..and….I actually heard that Goodwin is going to play football….could be wrong tho….but he is a great TE and as far as a DE….I heard he looks like a Julius Peppers….WOW….bright future for the kid in either sport really.

    Love seeing Memphis prosper even after Calipari bolted town. Hopefully their top recruits stay until at least their Junior year so they can make a few runs at a championship.

    Great pickup for my Tigers! This should not affect Stokes at all though. Him and Shaq are good friends and played AAU together this year. Also, lots of rumors are saying Poythress will pick Memphis on Thursday. Not sure how true they are though, but we will see on Thursday.

     lol…okay….well…ummmmm….apparently Shaq commited to Memphis without informing his parents first….and…his parents are not happy!!!….I have no idea what this means, but it is definitely not set in stone that he’s going to Memphis (even though it’s all over the internet right now)….hearing he might go to UCLA now….lol…basically I have no idea whats happening right now….lol

     Goodwin goes to school about 20 mins from where I went to HS, and I haven’t seen him play. I have to get home and watch him play now

     Yes please do. I’ve not really seen much of him either. But I heard he does in fact have plans on playing football as well. Probably a better football prospect than basketball actually.
