The8thDeadlySinParticipantDoes anyone see Pitt’s Blair as a bust?
I’ve seen him listed as short as 6’6, 6’7 and all I see when I watch him is a Tractor Traylor impersonator.0 - Posted on: Mon, 03/16/2009 - 7:28pm #143457
bigboom1Participant6 6 is awfully small, that’s about the prototypical size of your average nba shooting guard….But I think even though his stock is high, he could definitely use another year to come back and polish his skills. He has intangible toughness, competitiveness, plays bigger then his size and all that. Although he really lack explosiveness but not he’s glued to the ground, I saw him drive past Hasheem and he looked pretty smooth. Same thing with his fade away over him, if he can do that consistently and polish his skills he’ll be another Maxiell with just less explosiveness. Which means he can definitely contribute but his upside isn’t very high nor low unless he gains too much weight. However, I would definitely tell him to declare because his stock isnt gonna get any higher then it is now, especially when they realize he’s only 6 6. If he stays another year or two, he ll be like hansbrough…highly touted at first but really a watered down prospect at the end of the ride.

benz0ParticipantDoesn’t he have a ridiculous wingspan though? like 7’2″ at least?
I don’t see him doing much in the NBA either way though.

michaelds911ParticipantI don’t think his wingspan is that long, even if it is he doesn’t use it to his advantage on D.

The8thDeadlySinParticipantI’m a WVU fan and don’t really like Pitt but I like to see good players come out of the BIg East. Someone commented about his foot speed and backed it up by saying that he effortlessly drove by Thabett. No offence but Thabett is not exactly the best lateral defender. So going by him, while not exactly easy, is not really that hard. As far as his wingspan, I haven’t heard anything about it. Just by looking at him, he seems to have an above average wingspan but that is just by looking at him.

shipargosParticipantMaxiell is atheltic, Blair is not so atheltic.
Millsaps comparisons fade away also, Millsap is 6´8 and way more explosive. He could be more like Glen Davis with less bkb IQ
Undersized and succesful PFs in the Nba have at least one of the following.
Great skills
Great explosiveness
Perimeter play.i dont see Blair to be more than a garbage time player

errolt12I dont think Blair will be a bust. I personally think Blair will pan out to be a Jason maxiell type( theyre bout the sam size). He could have they type of imact that paul millsap has if he can develop his offensive game. And as far as im concerned the way blair manhandled thabeet he will probably be that same type of beast with some players in the NBA.
