goneParticipantI thought it would be fun to talk about some big trade rumors from the past that never happened. Feel free to add.
KG to LA via 4 way trade with Minny Indy and Boston
Scottie Pippen for Shawn Kemp in 93 I think
Bibby for Washington #1 pick in 01
J Kidd for Bynum in 07

sammybuckeye13ParticipantThat Pippen/Kemp rumor had to be totally bogus. The Bulls were coming off two straight titles and had a fine PF in Horace Grant (13.2 points 9.5 boards in ’92-93). Not to mention Pippen was clearly a better player in general and meshed perfectly with MJ. How would that have made any sense?

r377ParticipantI think about 3 years back the pistons offered rip, prince and someone else for kobe bryant….

IndianaBasketballParticipantThe Bulls were seriously considering trading Pippen for Kemp. It went down to the wire.
It seems the Bulls were always trying to trade Pippen…
The Bulls almost traded him for Antonio McDyess when Denver picked him 5th in the draft.
There were also rumors about him being traded in 1997 for Keith Van Horn or Tracy McGrady.

aamir543ParticipantWhat about Kobe to Chicago. That trade never got very serious, but there was a huge stir when Kobe said on an LA radio station he wasn’t happy there.

boshjonesfordParticipantPau Gasol to the Raptors for (he was amizing in his rookie year)Charlie Villinuava + TJ Ford + Rasho (expiring)
Vince Carter for Jamal Maglore + PJ Brown
Caldaron + Reggie Evens for Tyson Chandler + Boris Diaw (all the raptors fans wanted this trade and it went down but was rejected in the end..it was even posted on the raptors website as offical)

rileymcshea3ParticipantWhat about the Dirk for Nowitzki trade after Dirks MVP season and Kobe wasnt happy with the Lakers before they got Gasol
I also remember that trade for Kobe and Luol Deng

boshjonesfordParticipantWhy are people disliking these…its not like we are syaing we wanted the trades lol just saying what we recall
0 - Posted on: Wed, 10/12/2011 - 4:36pm #603562
aamir543ParticipantDon’t worry about it man, I agree it is annoying, but notice that half the people have -1, and the ones that don’t probably also lost a point. It’s obvious someone just came it and gave everyone a neg, but unfortunatly, there is we can do about it.

dmo21ParticipantDidnt the lakers almost trade for Jermaine O’Neal before they made the deal for Pau? Man, that would have made a world of a difference if the Lakers would have got an injury prone O’Neal rather than Pau lol.

raybeasParticipantfrom a couple years ago:
DGranger for AJeff
Not sure how ‘big’ it is, two $16+mil guys, but it makes more sense now than it did then. Gives more time to Favors/Kanter and to forum fav Paul George. Helps both teams at weak spots. Prolly too good to do now that I think about it.

HarbingerRember the Bynum for Bosh rumor? Alot of L.A fans wanted to see this happen until Bosh took his talents to southbeach and made everyone change their mind about him.Wish the lakers did give Bynum for Carmelo the rumor mill last season promised us melo but he went to the knicks as expected.

fredrock34ParticipantDanny ainge offer Rajon Rondo and Ray Allen to the pistons for Stuckey, Rip Hamilton and Prince and the pistons decline. How different would these to teams be had this trade gone down!

JSakes22ParticipantThe trade that woulda sent Amare to Cleveland when LeBron was there should have happened. He would have complimented LeBron much better than Jamison I think and maybe even been enough to keep LeBron there. Amare can hit the J and he’s obviously a beast in the paint. Can’t rebound for a lick but thats what Vajero is for. Furthermore, Suns woulda got JJ Hickson who woulda been great for the future, worked well with Nash and given the Cavs better value than Casspi, who they got this year when they traded Hickson.

niQParticipantI remember there were rumors swirling that Kobe was going to be traded to Chicago but the Bulls killed the trade because they didn’t want to let go of Luol Deng. Can you imagine that? The dealbreaker was Luol Deng…for Kobe Bryant….smh.

rileymcshea3ParticipantOOO shit i meant Kobe for Dirk

M-DYMESParticipanthaha!!!! I didn’t neg him, but after he made that 2nd post then I negged him for being a smart ass and being oblivious to his own faults. We all deserve a neg now and then. Mistakes happen.

aamir543ParticipantOh yeah! I remeber the Amare to Cleveland deal, I was furiouus when it didn’t go down. J.J. HICKSON! J.J. HICKSON! He was the deal breaker? These GMs need yo stop hoping these raw young guys turn into stars. Danny Ferry needed to realize that Amare helping them win a ‘ship now is is better than J.J. Hickson barely putting up double figures on the worst team in the league.

Mr. ChicagoParticipantKobe would have squashed that deal not the Bulls.
"The Lakers are asking for a package built around Luol Deng, Ben Gordon, Tyrus Thomas and Joakim Noah, which is more than Chicago is willing to surrender. Also, Bryant would not want to play in Chicago if the Bulls surrendered all four of those players, believing there would not be enough talent left to compete for a championship, and he would veto that trade even if the Bulls and Lakers were both in favor of it. iguapops420ParticipantDevean George for Jonathon Bender and the #17 pick in the 05 draft. Imagine had LAL landed Bynum and Granger in one single draft.
