Wavy BagelsParticipantWhat is everyone’s favorite all-time team vs. team rivalry (from any year, any era)?
Mines would have to be the on-going "Texas Two-Step" (Dallas V. San Antonio) and the classic Knicks V. Heat Rivalry during the late 90’s.

ChewyParticipantGrowing up in Chicago it is hard to pick a single series. MJ choking Reggie is classic…
But I have to go Bulls vs Knicks for a few reasons:
1. First and foremost, Starks was sooo easy to hate as a Bulls fan lol (was a baller tho)
2. MJ in Madison Square is just a great setting for an NBA game
3. Jordan…. Spin Move…. Poster…..
4. Pippen dunking then shoving then trash talking to Ewing all in ONE PLAY

RUDEBOY_ParticipantI use to love when Magic’s Lakers played Bird’s Celtics..Both team was full of stars….Even some of their bench players were former all stars and it seem like everyone knew how to play the game the right way..
I Also use to love when Dominique’s Hawks played Jordan’s Bulls or Bird’s Celtics..In Nique and Jordan you knew you were in for a high scoring game full of highlight DUNKS..
And Nique and Bird were so different but they always gave their all going at each other….Nique thought he was as good a player as Bird….Even though he wasnt …it was great to see he didnt BACKDOWN

sammybuckeye13ParticipantI’ve been watching since about ’97 and Jazz/Bulls represents a lot for me. Each team had two all-time greats at the end of their careers hungering for a title, big metropolitan city vs. small mountain city, not to mention how the two series’ transpired. Those finals epitomized the NBA of the last 20 years IMO (though last year was close) and Malone and Rodman also had a legitimate wrestling match. Just awesome

ItsVictorOladipoParticipantA few rivalries that I’ve really enjoyed (2 of which adum already mentioned)
76ers-Celtics (in the 80s)
Pistons-Bulls
Heat-Knicks
Pistons-Pacers (early 2000s)
Blazers-Lakers
Knicks-Pacers
Kings-Lakers

HitsterParticipantThe Lakers – Celtics is surely the greatest NBA rivalry ever stretching back over 50 years. The classic period was the Showtime Lakers vs Larry Bird’s Celtics team but also covered the huge amount of time that Red Auerbach’s Celtics lead by Bill Russell beat Jerry West’s Lakers in the 1960’s.
Even in recent years these two teams have given us a couple of memorable finals with PP, KG and RAy Allen finally getting the elusive title in 2008 and the Lakers winning in 7 only last year.

omphalosParticipantCeltics vs Lakers in 2010 had some great storylines, that series was amazing to watch. Modern day Celtics Lakers is the only rivalry I’ve seen really grow first-hand, so I’ll take that.
Also, Bulls vs Celtics in 2009 was a great series, Rondo and Rose really going at each other.

llperezkings lakers for me. It was very competitive and i lived in both LA and Sac when the series was heated and i saw it all first hand. But if the laker and celtics meet up again in the finals, that takes the cake for sure. I actually would have had an ounce of appreciation for the kings. But the celtics can suck it. I mean in 08, pierce goes on and on about how he is the greatest player on the planet? Dude you shot about 42% and got 23ppg with radmmanovic and walton taking turns gaurding you. STFU and go fake another career ending injury while being carried off the court in a wheel chair and then come back 2 minutes later and cross vlade up and grab your junk trick.

aamir543ParticipantI know this isn’t a popular pick, but what about Spurs and Mavs during the last decade. Remember Dirk vs. Duncan in 06, classic.

HaleParticipantAnything other then Celtics-Lakers. Could not care less about either team. In all of basketball it’s gotta be UNC-Duke, those guys despise eachother.

marcusfizer21ParticipantI’ve been a Jordan fan all my life and one team that I hate looking at was the Ewing and Stark filled New York Knicks oh and by the way, it’s not them that I despised the most, it was actually X, Xavier McDaniel, who usually uses psychological tactics against Chicago… I remember him treating Pippen like trash but Pip wouldn’t back down.. I remember Jordan talking back at him… It was one of those classic Bulls-Knicks rivalry… To generalize it all, the Knicks, despite their talent and physical play, NEVER got the best of Jordan… They only beat the Bulls during the 1994 playoffs, the time when Jordan went out swinging bats…lol
