StF616ParticipantYes its worth 60 bucks
Yes there is a create a shot
yes it will be better
For me its the contracts, up to you to decide0 - Posted on: Wed, 10/05/2011 - 12:46pm #602812

crazyknicksfanParticipant1. Yes its definitely worth the full $60.
2. Yes there is but since its a newly added feature don’t expect anything extremely robust and detailed.
3. Yes it will because of the DLC that 2k will put out..i even heard rumors that there even planning to send out more downloadable legend teams such as the 99-00 raptors and so forth, also because of the updated rosters we will receive (whenever the lockout ends)
4. For me its not only the contracts, but also the team interviews (pre-draft), endorsements, and also the ability to boost up your team morale and overall popularity by spending your money on things such as team-dinner, hosting basketball clinics with legends, hosting an nba cares event and many more.
P.S. This game is REALLY challenging from the get-go so be prepared to get blown out when you first play the game (yes even on pro), oh and also your teammates do an excellent job of moving around and getting within the flow of the game unlike last year where team movements were rather stale unless you made a play.

Penny Jr.ParticipantLaughing my a** off… Yall, start’in to make me feel dumb. I guess I will have to start writing in complete and clear sentences for now on. I just got my GED, like a couple of days ago and somehow I scored, above the regular satisfactory level in all the caterogies… I wonder how that happened lol.
@so_offened, for now on I will take the time so everybody can understand me

boshjonesfordParticipantI would not say its worth sixty bucks (if you have/played 2k11 alot) it just feels like an expansion of 2k11 which is not worth 60 bucks in my opinion …… dont get me wrong its bettter gameplay and me personally i dont care the legendary teams that much so if your into all that it might be worth it

M-DYMESParticipantNo video game is ever worth $60. But that doesn’t mean I didn’t spend $60 on it.

MuggsyParticipantLike M-DYMES said, no game is worth $60. I bought the PS3 version and it simply doesn’t work. I took it back and got the PC version, it not only works flawlessly but it’s also only $30. Kind of pathetic how much Xbox/Ps3 markup their prices.
All you need is a nifty freeware driver called MotionJoy and you can use a PS3 controller on your computer, so it’s the same as playing it on PS3 except about 50x faster loading and better quality graphics.

IndianaBasketballParticipantboshjonesford is selling the game short lol. He must be mad he can’t literally BE one of the players or something lol.
I’ve been a fan of 2K since Dreamcast, so I buy it every year. I don’t like paying $60+ for a video game either, but there’s no way around it. It’s worth the buy though in my opinion. There’s no question it’s the best basketball game ever and it’s arguably the best sports game ever. 2K listens to it’s fans and makes it happen.
2K definitely delivered. It’s leaps and bounds better than 2K11.
REALISM. Right off top, you notice the improvements they’ve made to the overall look in the game. I mean, it literally looks like a real life NBA basketball game. The arena, fans, actual court, score table, etc… And then the spacing of the players on the floor and just the way they move… It’s just like they do in a real NBA game. 2K has always been pretty good at this, but they’ve taken it to another level this year. They’ve really captured all of the details. Derrick Rose plays JUST like him lol. His hesitation crossover… The way he shoots. I mean, they’ve nailed down player looks (totally redone faces, tats, etc) and player tendencies. LeBron plays just like him too. It’s insane just how detailed they’ve gotten this when it comes to tendencies, etc. The team intros, etc… Just real. Even the audio is improved.
CONTROL. You have total control now and it’s SMOOTH. No more delay. No more pre-animated motions where your player does sh*t that makes you want to throw your controller. The players are very fluent. You can stop and go, or pull up on a dime. You can just tell 2K improved the entire movement system. The responsiveness timing is so much better, which makes the defense in this game an A+. You can now do things on defense that you couldn’t do on 2K11… In 2K11, I felt like lateral movement was delayed or sometimes had "hitches" in the movements. No more on this game. There’s no excuse not to play on ball defense in this game lol.
DEFENSE. I talked a little about this above, but it goes into even more detail. Now you can set how you how you want a player to be defended on pick on rolls/screens. And you can anticipate movements while defending the post. In 2K11, I felt you were helpless at times to post moves. Not in this game. The better you anticipate, the better you’ll be on defense. You can dominate defensively this year without cheesy 1-3-1 exploits. Another thing that stands out is they don’t call foul everytime there’s contact around the rim. It’s a "man’s game" on defense this year.
OFFENSE. Better movement without the ball. The offensive sets are even more realistic and there’s better spacing. The cheesy spin dunks aren’t as potent. And you can’t abuse the hop set anymore. The ball handling is MUCH better than 2K11 and now you can set up your own hesitations, etc. Like I said… No more pre-animated motion bs. Now, you have the control.
POST OFFENSE. A HUGE improvement. Now, you have total control of your player in the post and it’s so smooth. I mean, you have total control. You can dominate a game from the post now and like really play an inside out game. You can dominate with a bigman without just hop stepping and dunking every play. They brought Dwight Howard to life.
And I don’t think you can get bored with this game, especially if you do everything. I mean, I spent an hour just doing training last night. I think it’s cool how the game’s best players are being trained by legends like Jordan, Bird, Pistol Pete, Hakeem and Pippen. I haven’t even gotten to My Player mode, online play, etc yet. I haven’t created a legend or created a player. I haven’t done the legends mode. I’ve pretty much just done practice, training and played an exhibition game or two. This game has unlimited potential.
