Andrew1984ParticipantYou’re building a team not just for one year, but for the indefinite future. Choose a player from each group and write a quick sentence explaining your choice. Consider the players’ real ages, salaries, injury histories, and the positions of and chemistry between those you’ve chosen:
A. Your star and go-to player and the focal point of your team:
- Derrick Rose
- Blake Griffin
- Carmelo Anthony
- Deron Williams
- Kobe Bryant
B. Your second option; not a superstar, but a great running mate for a superstar:
- Al Horford
- Rudy Gay
- Kevin Martin
- Stephen Curry
- Rajon Rondo
C. Your third option, a guy who can play, but can never really be expected to dominate:
- Roy Hibbert
- Jrue Holiday
- Wilson Chandler
- Wesley Matthews
- Landry Fields
D. Your young, highly-touted prospect who is not a sure thing yet:
- Evan Turner
- Derrick Favors
- Gordon Hayward
- Wesley Johnson
- Paul George
E. The fifth starter who is not super talented, but rather, a "glue" guy:
- Ryan Anderson
- Richard Jefferson
- Anderson Varejao
- Shane Battier
- Metta World Peace

Andrew1984ParticipantPersonally, I would go with:
Griffin: A young, explosive 22 & 12 big man is harder to find than an elite PG, and Kobe is aging.
Curry: Can stretch floor to create space for Griffin and a great passer to excel in P&R with Griffin.
Fields: I need a gritty player who will defend, rebound, not demand a ton of shots, but can still hit an open one.
Hayward: Great IQ, instincts, underrated athleticism, work ethic, and unselfish. My breakout player for next year.
Anderson: He can pull a post defender away from the basket, and isn’t quite the pansy that most stretch 4s are (see Doleac, Michael)

MagikKnickParticipantA. Blake Griffin – It was tough to choose him over DRose, but great big men are becoming very rare in todays game, and B. Griff has a chance to be a very good player, every championship team needs a dominate big man
B. Rajon Rondo – Al Horford would of been my pick, but im not sure how i like him and B, Griff together, Rondos the guy i need here, hes a great setup man, and a great defender.
C. Wes Matthews – I like Wes Matthews alot, hes a good 2-guard to accompany my team thus far
D. Paul George – I love Paul George, i think his potential is sky high, and I like what he could be in 2-5 years. Ironic how he was pick last in the draft out of everyone on the D list..
E. Ryan Anderson – My team isnt the greatest shooting team thus far, so why not add Anderson to help us shoot.
Rondo
Matthews
George
Griffin
Anderson[Iwouldnt start him though..]0 - Posted on: Mon, 09/19/2011 - 9:16am #600559

Wes Matthews
Shane Battier
Horford
D Favors

Andrew1984ParticipantPerhaps I should’ve included Kevin Durant in group A to make the responses more diverse.

seniokasParticipant1) Derick Rose – it was hard to choose between him and Blake, but I think that it better to have the best pg in the league than super-athletic but still not a great scorer pf who is also not good defender and shot blocker right now. P.S. if Kobe would be few years younger I would take him over anyone.
2)Al Horford – good fundamentaly bigmen who can do pretty much everything on the court, also can play both 4 and 5.
3)Wes Metthews – good shooter who will be a really good option when I will spred or spread ( dont know grammar sorry ) the offense to let D-Rose drive to the basket.
4) Evan Turner – easy decision I think that he will be one of the best 2’s in a few years and he is one of those do-it-all guys who really help teams to be teams not just a bunch guys.
5) Anderson Varejao – ENERGY he will give energy to team and I think will be really good w/ D-Rose, Al Horford will play 4. ( actually anderson is pretty simillar to noah to me )

David Stern a.k.a. da muthaf@cking leader of da kryptsParticipantA. Blake Griffin
B. Rajon Rondo ( would make a great offensive duo with Griffin for years to come)
C. Roy Hibbert ( solid rebounder&defender, still young and can develop a good post game)
D. Paul George ( the most promising rookie defender)
E. Shane Battier (can shoot, good defensively)
This would be one of the best defensive starting fives right from the start IMO.

orangeshadow83ParticipantA. Deron Williams (Makes players around him better and can take over a game if he has to)
B. Rudy Gay (Can flat out score would be even better with DWill passing him the ball)
C. Roy Hibbert (Quality centers are few and far between)
D. Paul George (Can play multiple positions and doesn’t need to score a lot to be effective)
E. Anderson Varejao (Perfect glue player)

Malik-UniversalParticipantYour star and go-to player and the focal point of your team:
- Derrick Rose
- Blake Griffin– Dominant big men are rare nowa days… future supastar right here
- Carmelo Anthony
- Deron Williams
- Kobe Bryant
B. Your second option; not a superstar, but a great running mate for a superstar:
- Al Horford
- Rudy Gay
- Kevin Martin
- Stephen Curry
- Rajon Rondo— Dude has to much talent as a point guard, amazing passer, great vision, sometimes to unselfish at times… once he gets a jumper, watch out d.rose
C. Your third option, a guy who can play, but can never really be expected to dominate:
- Roy Hibbert- Still young with a promising post game… a good shotblocker with great size.. needs to improve his demonor on the court
- Jrue Holiday
- Wilson Chandler
- Wesley Matthews
- Landry Fields
D. Your young, highly-touted prospect who is not a sure thing yet:
- Evan Turner
- Derrick Favors— I’m really high on Favors… I’ve heard he has a great work ethic, and is only 20 or so… showed promise his rookie year… he will pan out imo…
- Gordon Hayward
- Wesley Johnson
- Paul George
E. The fifth starter who is not super talented, but rather, a "glue" guy:
- Ryan Anderson
- Richard Jefferson
- Anderson Varejao
- Shane Battier
- Metta World Peace— His last two seasons have been underwhelming… He needs a new scenery… Artest can still play, but hes gotten lazy I think…

Wanted to do Blake Griffin of course, but I need a great point guard for my team and I hate the fact that Rondo can’t make a jump shot

festar35ParticipantA. Griffin
B. Curry
C. Hibbert
D. George
E. BattierGot Griffin and Curry to run a pick n roll offense plus 20ppg+ a game each. Hibbert, George and Battier to play solid defense. Battier to bring in a bit of veteran leadership.

SmooveKRYPTParticipantA. Rose
B. Gay
C. Hibbert
D. George
E. Varejao
Just think about how unstopable D. Rose would be with Gay as his wing man. We saw how good of a defender Paul George is, and that kind of length on the wings combined with the 7’2 Hibbert in the middle would be tough to score on. Add in Varejao who’s the ultimate hustle/energy player who also has great experience and you have yourself a serious squad.
PS I find it hilarious that no one picked Kobe.

DaBallsInUrCourtParticipantA. Your star and go-to player and the focal point of your team:
- Derrick Rose – MVP, he shows character and leadership. A great team starts off with a all star point guard.
- Blake Griffin
- Carmelo Anthony
- Deron Williams
- Kobe Bryant
B. Your second option; not a superstar, but a great running mate for a superstar:
- Al Horford- Premier big man who can step out and hit the mid range jumper. Who can watch the floor when rose is on the side lines and be a leader for the team.
- Rudy Gay
- Kevin Martin
- Stephen Curry
- Rajon Rondo
C. Your third option, a guy who can play, but can never really be expected to dominate:
- Roy Hibbert – Big body enough said. Not many 7ft plus guys in the league.
- Jrue Holiday
- Wilson Chandler
- Wesley Matthews
- Landry Fields
D. Your young, highly-touted prospect who is not a sure thing yet:
- Evan Turner – Not what we expected rookie season to be, but I see a break out year coming for evan turner. He just needs to be in the right situation and on this squad I see him flurishing if him and d.rose could get over thier past.
- Derrick Favors
- Gordon Hayward
- Wesley Johnson
- Paul George
E. The fifth starter who is not super talented, but rather, a "glue" guy:
- Ryan Anderson
- Richard Jefferson
- Anderson Varejao
- Shane Battier- last but not least the defender, the hustle and the brains. battier brings great IQ of the game and he helps out on both sides of the court.
- Metta World Peace
Rose
Turner
Battier
Horford
Hibbert

aamir543ParticipantSince you said that Durant can be added, I’ll take him.
Durant
Rondo
Hibbert
Favors
Batteir
But if I can have a guy even like Johnny Flynn, or Dragic instead of Favors, than I would take Horford instead of Rondo, and my front line would be Durant-Horford-Hibbert, and my back court Flynn/Dragic, and Battier.

IndianaBasketballParticipantA. Your star and go-to player and the focal point of your team:
- Derrick Rose
- Blake Griffin
- Carmelo Anthony
- Deron Williams
- Kobe Bryant
- Kevin Durant – I’d go with Durant. Already a great scorer at such a young age and with so much room to grow.
B. Your second option; not a superstar, but a great running mate for a superstar:
- Al Horford
- Rudy Gay
- Kevin Martin
- Stephen Curry – He needs to work on his defense, but he’s a great shooter, passer and can create his own offense off of the dribble. Should come in handy when teams focus on Durant. I see a lot of Steve Nash in Curry.
- Rajon Rondo
C. Your third option, a guy who can play, but can never really be expected to dominate:
- Roy Hibbert – He’s not a great defender or rebounder, but his size alone makes him a presence and he’s very skilled offensively.
- Jrue Holiday
- Wilson Chandler
- Wesley Matthews
- Landry Fields
D. Your young, highly-touted prospect who is not a sure thing yet:
- Evan Turner – He’s not a great shooter, but he wouldn’t have to shoot much. Unlike with the 76ers, he’d be able to handle the ball on my squad considering Curry can play off of the ball. He’d fit in very nicely with Durant as well.
- Derrick Favors
- Gordon Hayward
- Wesley Johnson
- Paul George
E. The fifth starter who is not super talented, but rather, a "glue" guy:
- Ryan Anderson
- Richard Jefferson
- Anderson Varejao – Durant already has my small forward spot locked up, so he makes the most sense here. He is the type of player that can really play a huge role on a championship caliber team.
- Shane Battier
- Metta World Peace

llperezmy team would be:
c-al horford
pf-blake griffin
sf-ron artest
sg-paul george
pg-jrue holiday
im very excited about griffin and theres not too many players in the league i would take over him right now to start a franchise. Horford is solid side kick who can step outside to clear rom for griff, is still young and has some toughness. Artest is the best player available from the last list and i think he still has very solid years left in him. Holiday has all-star potential and plays defense and is an unselfish playmakeer who will allow his teammates to do their thing without dominating the ball. I really like evan turner over george but for this team i think george’s style would fit better.

C – Hibbert
PF – Horford
SF – Battier
SG- George
PG – Rose
