Wow! anyone catch that game? Cutler threw for over 300 yards…. amazing what he can do with protection. He will show that he is easily a top 8 QB in the leagur this year just like he was his last year in denver.

Are defense flexed its muscles today…. my goodness, were legit contenders, atlanta did nothin on offense

Am i the only one who think matt ryan is overrated? He has weapons galore ( unlinke cutler who has dog ish to work with) Im not sold on ryan like some ppl are.

How did your teams do today? Anyone standout?

Dude, even Grossman had good games, it’s just one game, don’t get too excited.

aww dude…. everyone talks shit about grossman but know nothing about fball because if u had any knowledge you would know the bears are a QB graveyard where qbs go2 get there careers ended. I hate rex but he had zero weapons and an average line so theres not much he could do. And actually it is a big deal we just dismantled atlanta who had the best record in the nfc last year.

Yeah, you probably are the only one who thinks Matt Ryan is overrated…..you’re talking about someone knowing nothing about football, your Matt Ryan comment shows you know nothing about football.  I’m a Bears fan who lives in Chicago by the way, so no bias.

All I was saying that it was 1 game. I think Cutler is a great QB, but he  takes too many  risks. If he can become less turnover prone, than I think he can become even better.

Cutler is so inconsistent. One game he will look like an elite QB, then next game he will throw 3INT. I want see him have consistency throughout the season, he’s never had, even going back to his Denver years.

And how about Ryan Fitzpatrick? Everyone bashed the Bills for passing up on Blaine Gabbert, but Fitzpatrick looks legit.

You wonder why cutlers incosistent? getta brain and realize he was sacked 56 times last year to go along with the worst WR core, so ya i think brady and manning would be inconsistent with that sh-it too. ( i respect messee as a poster so im not gonna go over board and go on a rant like i want ha )And if you dont think matt ryan is overreated thats your opinion, but besides green bay he has the best weapons in the league…. roddy white is a premier wr, turner led the league in rushing a few years ago and they just added julio so hes got the weapons.

The Eagles played exactly how I expected. Next week will show what Atlanta and Matt Ryan are really made of.

Yall crazy if you are gonna label your teams already.  Its week 1.  The first time most of these team’s starters have ever played a full game together as a group.

Ever heard of gelling?  It takes time to become a dominant unit.  Ill be the first to admit that even my Eagles have things to work on.

And Kanye, you should know, judging from the past, that Cutler’s whole career in Chicago has been filled with huge UP and DOWN games.  How bout waiting for a little consistency.  I’m happy for you and your squad, but I’d tone down the optimism a little bit given this is only the 1st of 16 regular season games.

Quick note as I turned on NYJ v. DAL…Dez Bryant gonna be one bad mofo this season.  Thankfully my Eagles went out and now have 3 elite CBs.

Cutler is inconsistent because he has the same gunslinging mentality as Favre, a lack of protection certainly doesn’t help, but he would throw picks regardless because that’s just who he is.

Alex Smith completed 75% of his passes and threw no interceptions! Maybe the 7th season is the charm.

I have pretty much given up on Alex Smith, though he did have a pretty nice first game. Think that Seattle blows, though, so we will see how the rest of it works. Luckily, he gets to play them once more and a Cardinals team that just gave up 422 yards to Cam Newton (not hating on Cam, amazing first game. But, it has to kind of plant the seed that the Cardinals might be in trouble in their pass defense) twice.

Still, I was directed the other day to a pretty crazy parallel between Alex Smith and Jim Harbaugh (friend Brad gets credit here):

Both Alex Smith and Jim Harbaugh started 50 games in their first six seasons. Harbaugh completed 57.4 percent of his passes for 9,565 yards with 43 touchdowns, 45 interceptions and a passer rating of 74.6. Smith’s completion percentage is 57.1 for 9,399 yards with 51 TDs and 53 interceptions, and a passer rating of 72.1.

Harbaugh did not turn out to be an epic QB or anything, but he improved in his 7th year (albeit in Indy rather than Chicago), and he even made the Pro Bowl in his 8th season. They were very different QB’s, but the statistical resemblance is uncanny. Not saying that this saves Alex Smith’s job, he has to keep playing well and winning, but it was kind of cool to see the similarity of coach and player.

MikeyV, as a Niner fan, I gave up on Smith 3 years ago-maybe more.

I had no faith in them, and to be honest, I am still not very high on the Niners. For the last 4 years, I have been told "our year, our year", only to be dissapointed every single year. I’ll believe when I see it,

And about Smith, I don’t think he is more than a low quality game manager. I hope Harbaugh doesn’t expect him to throw for more than 200 yards at any point within the season. He will definatly not win us any games, but I’m cool with him as long as he doesn’t completly break down.

I gave up on him after I watched my Eagles demolish him in the 4th quarter of a blow out on opening day of his rookie year. I even stayed for the rest of that pathetic game just to see what Alex Smith had. Which is nothing.
