I actually don’t hate that deal. Decent for both sides assuming Rudy is the guy Memphis decides makes too much and is expendible

Its not terrible…although i feel like the Hornets could get more for CP3 than that (i.e. the melo trade)

I think Memphis would definatly have add in a pick or two. ( Maybe a first and a future second)

but its defintly got some potential, and id love the look of the grizzlies after that,

but the big issue is still would Paul re sign in memphis.

I would hope that Paul would with the impovement in talent to work with.

    Draft pick can be added.

I’d personally take that deal if Memphis would throw in Arthur and a pick. IMO, that’s a better deal than the Melo trade because NO gets out of an oversized contract in Ariza, adds a pick, a solid young 4 who is on the verge of becoming a starting caliber player, an above average PG(who was actually compared to CP3 before the draft) who can get you 15 and 7 on a winning team, a pick, and proven 20ppg player who can put fans in the seats. Gay, IMO., is a better player than anyone gained in the Melo deal(especially since Chandler is going to be staying overseas for the entire upcoming year).

Finaly some good stuff back on this website again !

Nice trade there is no way that Memphis wouldnt say yes to this ,but on the other side your trading the best pg in the league when healthy and probably a top 10 pg of all time when healthy .But that being said that could be one of there best offers

only one other thing that could hold NO back is size of the deals gay and conley have. If they were wanting to rebuild they definatly dont want large contracts.

Iguapops, you read my mind, I also think Arthur, or Sam Young, and maybe even a Xavier Henry plus a first would be decent for NO, but I think that they could probably get somthing a bit better.

i don´t hate the deal but if i am New Orleans why would i make the trade?

they will only make the deal if they are desperate because CP3 wants out!

Wow a really good trade suggestion that deserves a point for nzers. It works on virtually all points, NO get two good youngish players for effectively a complimentary player and their franchise guy who could walk for nothing next summer. Gay becomes the star at NO and even if they struggle they have a PG and a legit 20ppg guy in situ so they can rebuild around this.

Memphis reached the play offs minus Gay and now add CP3 who will be a huge upgrade over Conley and could really bring the best out of OJ Mayo. Ariza gives them experience and could be a great 6th man for them. The risk could be that CP3 walks but they have moved Gay’s salary and if CP3 stays then they are onto a winner.

If CP3 did sign an extension prior to the tade then Memphis have to send a pick but if not then the deal still looks good,

Like said before, throw in a few picks and this is solid. Plus, they would be a nasty 2k12 team to do P & R’s with.

Most trades on here are garbage. While maybe not the perfect trade, I think both teams consider it, especially if Paul wants out. Memphis did well without Gay last year. I’m sure they would love to have him back, but they would have a top tier pg and giving him more weapons than he’s probably ever had on offense. I could see it helping Mayo as well and Henry as well. From NO standpoint, why let him walk for nothing? Gay signed a big long contract and would get to be the unquestioned man and Conley is solid. You end up with talent that can play and even though I’m not sure that Gay will ever be an all star, he’s a guy that has the talent to be one and has also proven he can play at a high level. He’s not like some draft pick out of college that you don’t know what you will get out of him.

The one thing I don’t get is why are people still saying "you could get more?" The Melo trade ended up getting Denver a lot of nice ROLE PLAYERS. One have which may have never re-signed and in the end won’t be back at least this year in Chandler. Another piece had no intention of staying if he wasn’t the unquestioned starter so he gets traded for a capable, but aging pg. I don’t see an All Star in the rest of the pieces left either. Most people consider Deron Williams as good or close to Paul and Utah got a bad contract in Harris, an unknown in Favors who may be somewhere else once he reaches his full potential and some draft picks that may not amount to anything. It’s hard to get equal value for a superstar, especially when everyone knows he is bolting. You are doing well to get a borderline all star that still has a lot of potential and a respectable replacement.

I have never saw a user on this site get so many points for a trade idea. BUT I do not see it happening. That is a ton of money owed to Gay and Conley and I dont think the Hornets financial situation will let them.

The Hornets would take on longish contracts but it does give them a core of Gay, Conley and Okafor to rebuild around. If people want to even out the deal then perhaps Memphis throw in Mayo as well.
