OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantI guess the vertical numbers he put up at the combine weren’t a fluke.

I May Be WrongParticipantDoes anyone think he’ll be starting at 2guard for the Knicks during the season? Because I think having him on the floor for 30 minutes as a defensive playmaker would be more beneficial for the Knicks thank having Landry starting. Landry can rebound and shoot but he’s not a great defender nor can he create his shot. I think Iman may steal that spot from him after like 20 games

TripBzParticipantThis kid’s nice! I didn’t know his handle was that good or that he’s so athletic, Knicks have them selves a really good prospect.

PrecociousNeophyteParticipantI don’t think he will start at the 2 at the begining of the season, but it would not suprise me if he did. With the lockout stuff going on Shumpert dosn’t have much time practicing with the team, so at least for the begining of the season I think Landry will be starting. Shumpert will be coming off the bench to begin by playing some 1 and 2. By the end of the season I could see him overtaking Landry at the 2 spot if he plays well.

Cardinal_FanParticipantIve always loved Shumpert, yes he’s raw but i think he look alot better in the NBA than in college becuase of how openly spaced and free flowing the NBA game is. He is a big talent an with further developement will be the steal of the draft!

surveParticipantyeah, I am a big Shumpert fan too. we cant neglect how flawed his game is, but those flaws can be improved with hard work and dedication. as far as dunking…Shumpert and Terrico White need to be in the next contest.

surveParticipant"Does anyone think he’ll be starting at 2guard for the Knicks during the season?"
Its possible, depending on how coach wants the offense to look. Fields is a fundamentally solid and "safe" player. Iman is much more dynamic. Once his jumper gets consistent and his playmaking improves…he’s gonna be a problem.

iguapops420ParticipantHe won’t swtart right off, but it’s his spot to take by ASG. Landry wasn’t a very good fit beside of Melo, and Shump showed this year that he’s better playing off-ball than on. I don’t expect him to be a 30mpg guy at any point throughout the season, but his presence could really be felt come platyoffs. As long as he brings his defensive intensity and ability to create turnovers and fastbreak points, he’ll make a BIG impact for NY whether he starts or comes off of the bench.
D’Antoni seems to think his jumper is better than he shpowed at GT. I could personally see him playing a role similar to that, that Joe Johnson played while in PHX. Probably less scoring though.
