I know we all are heavily into Fr. prospects coming out, but I know some of you think like I do that certain guys should stay for 2 years or more. Which Fr. One & Done prospects do you want to see stay instead of bolting for the 2012 Draft?

    • James McAdoo- Really like his upside/potential, but I believe it would be a mistake for him to leave early, when he can comeback another year to showcase his worth & earn a lot more money by sliding up the draft board. So far UNC history shows that Fr. One & Done prospects don’t translate well to the NBA (Williams/Wright)
    • Michael Kidd-Gilchrist- Underrated SF prospect who has the ability to do wonderful things on the court but gets overshadowed by other prospects. Would love to see him be a Top 5 pick but it would not happen with this deep class.
    • Myck Kabongo- Really needs to stay to fine tune the obvious such as strength/bulk, shooting, and finishing ability around the rim. Great leader and facilitator, but his body is not physically ready to take the abuse he would get.
    • Austin Rivers- The way he plays and conducts himself on the court lets you know his game screams NBA ready. He is a guy I think that will shock many into returning for another year to LEARN under Coach K. I’m quite sure as bad as he wants to make the jump he will realize there is no reason to rush it especially when he can work on the minor perks to his game to become a better SG prospect, after all his father is a NBA Head Coach so he has the ups on everyone to know the ins & outs

I bet James McAdoo will stay since he wont get the playing time a top 5 prospect should get

and Muck Kabongo should stay because this draft is too loaded ….he needs to stay and become a higher draft pick

I think most of the guys ranked in the 10-20 range will stay like Wiltjer, Birch, Hariston, Christmas and Carter-Williams.

Among top ten guys though I’ll say Adonis Thomas and maybe Mcadoo

I’m slightly sick of the one and done stuff… it’s an insult to colleges across the country… i can respect 2-4 years because you can actually accomplish something over that time at a university…. change the age limit to just 18 years old or have recieved or will recieve a high school diploma in the next 2 months….

I want to see him stay at least two years. I love his game but if he wants to be a pg he is going to need to learn to make better decisions at times. Two years in school should help him put a lot.

I agree that the one and done rule is stupid, but do you honestly think that the rule is insulting? Maybe to the colleges who don’t get the Beasleys, Irvings, and Durants. Getting a one time deal with a top recruit is better than not being able to get them at all. I have no problem with guys leaving early for the NBA. There are better resources, more time and ways to get better, and better coaches overall. If these guys get drafted in the lottery, they’re going to a bad or mediocre team, which more than likely has a starting spot on their roster for them. If they get drafted low, they’re going to an established team, which will allow them to comfortably grow. They get to play against top competition night in, night out in practices and games. I don’t see how playing in college is necessarily better. Certainly, playing against scrubs in college, who more than the majority will never sniff a NBA bench, isn’t going to better a top recruit over what the NBA brings competition wise. If they don’t make it in the NBA and can’t handle the competition, more than likely, they weren’t going to make it with 10 years in college. There are special cases where I believe staying in college could be beneficial, but for the most part, I think NBA has much better resources for a prospect to grow.

@Steriod .. I’m just saying it from a current college student/athlete perspective… But if you put people into college who have no interest whatsoever in the actual intended purpose of the institution it is extremely detrimental to the entire school.. if they want to get paid to play basketball there is a budding market in europe begging for talent that they can go to as well and make money right away..  I do completely understand the resources you would be open to if you go into the nba as a lottery pick but the fact that universities have become a springboard to pro sports isn’t the correct way to go about it in my opinion…
