The8thDeadlySinParticipantBoring time of year with school about to start and an NBA lockout so I have been playing with the Trade Machine.
First thought:
Pistons/Magic
Pistons get:
Arenas
1st round pickMagic get:
Hamelton
VillanuevaWhy?
Magic get 2 servicable players, who could probably start, and help them compete in the East again. They are longer term contracts but I think at this point, you have to take a risk to keep Dwight in town..
Pistons get rid or 2 bad contracts for 1 bad contract.. That is big for a team that is rebuilding.. They can let Arenas tutor Knight and mold him into a scoring PG or they can just buy out Arenas. They clear their wing depth and open up more time for Monroe.. These guys are the future of their team so they need to do everything they can to get these guys in the spotlight ASAP.Any more ideas??

DunksNJordans23ParticipantIn the right package that would include Dwight Howard the Bulls should consider taking Arenas. Something maybe along the line of Noah, Boozer or Deng, Taj or Asik, and a draft pick for Howard and Arenas

The8thDeadlySinParticipantThat would be nasty but its alot of movement for a team ready to win a championship.. People will argue that it would make them better but IDK.. On paper, I love it, in reality, IDK..

lakersfan4lifeParticipantMaybe when his contract is about to expire.
That would give any team a lot of salary cap relief. If not, then it would have to be in a package with Howard. Either the bad contracts of Arenas or Turkoglus would be ideal for the Magic to pair with Howard in a trade.

TheLastWordParticipantUltimately I think its the Bulls that end with Arenas.
Boozer, Noah, Brewer, Charlotte’s 1st round pick for
Howard (+extension), Arenas
Arenas is a big upgrade over Bogans at SG. He is massively overpaid, but his contract runs only runs 2 years compared to 4 more years like Boozer. Noah and the 1st round pick are the best the Magic can hope for with the expiring, disgruntled Howard. It gives them a head start on the rebuld with a younger, top 5 center, and the 1st round owed to them by Charlotte in a couple years could be really high.
