The8thDeadlySinParticipantIf you had to pick 1 of these pairs of players to start a franchise with, who would it be?
Greg Monroe and Evan Turner
Demarcus Cousins and Eric Gordon
Demar Derozen and Brook Lopez
Derrick Rose and Daniel Orton
Brandon Jennings and Roy Hibbert
Ty Lawson and Blake Griffin
Russel Westbrook and Robin Lopez
DJ Augustine and Michael Beasley7 other players on the team:
Nate Robinson
Kirk Hinrich
Matt Barnes
Channing Frye
Elton Brand
Al Thornton
Nazer MouhammedPlease give a reason why. Thanks!

providencefriars1ParticipantI’ll choose Gordon and Cousins.
Together they provide a nice inside-outside scoring punch and the role players given would complement well defensively. Guys like Hinrich, Barnes, Brand and Mohammed provide experience and defense to make up for Cousins and Gordon’s weaknesses plus Hinrich and Robinson are more than serviceable point guards to run the offense.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantI’d go with Cousins and Gordon as well
It seems as if they are the only two that have both proven to be very good NBA players. Whereas guys like Turner, DeRozan, Orton, Lawson, Robin Lopez, and DJ Augustine are either fringe starters or projects.

JoeWolf1It’d take someone I had no faith in as a player not to pick the team with Derrick Rose…I have no faith in Daniel Orton as a player.
SO, I’m picking Ty Lawson and Blake Griffin. I like Lawson’s ability to pentrate and run the floor which I think pairs very well with Blake Griffin’s athletic style. I think Blake is a special talent, and I think Ty Lawson is going to be a very good player and is going to have a break out year next season without Ray Felton and Chauncey taking minutes.

HitsterParticipantOrton has done nothing yet but I’d be hugely tempted to take him and Rose just to get the MVP on the team but perhaps Cousins and Gordon might be the best as Cousins alongside Brand looks a nice match.

Johnny ChillAre you serious? You may as well throw Ed Davis back in the mix!!
Of all the big men on that list, I would take LaMarcus Alridge over all of them expect for Blake Griffin.

sammybuckeye13ParticipantThey’re both fairly one-dimensional but give me DeRozan and B. Lopez. You’re starting a team with two go-to scorers, a wing and big man, who are improving very rapidly, especially on the offensive end. They’re very low risk compared to most of the other pairings and still have major upside. Hinrich/DeRozan would be a strong dynamic backcourt and Brand/Lopez would be the second best low post combo after Gasol/Bynum. The swing is sort of weak but I’d just need Thornton and Barnes to play tough D.
PG – Kirk Hinrich / Nate Robinson
SG – DeMar DeRozan
SF – Al Thornton / Matt Barnes
PF – Elton Brand / Channing Frye
C – Brook Lopez / Nazr Mohammed

JoeWolf1Man, Johnny Chill, a lot of hate on Davis lately. I think he’ll actually be a good player, averaging 7 rebounds and shooting over 50% and 13 double doubles as a rookie is pretty good, and he’s only going to get stronger and more experienced.

sammybuckeye13ParticipantWhy are people hating on Ed Davis? He averaged 7.7 points, 7.1 boards and and 1 block on 57.6% shooting as a rookie on team with a pretty crowded frontcourt, he just turned 22 and his relatively slim frame is still filling out. If he puts on just 5-7 more pounds of muscle he could be legit and I’d rather start a franchise with him than half the starting PF’s in the league right now.
