RUDEBOY_ParticipantIf he continues on his current pace for the next 3 years, he’s getting in, not on the 1st Ballot though..maybe on the 2nd try….

Cardinal_FanParticipantI wont say he has to win a championship to get it in but it would be nice to make him a definate. But i agree with RudeBoy. If he keeps up his current pace and continues to build his resume’ he will get in.

JoeWolf1If he keeps his pace at scoring 23-25 ppg he’ll hit 20,000 points in 4 years (he’d only be 32) If he stays healthy and I think he’s definately headed in that direction.

PureshooterParticipantHe’s on the way, but if he retired today there would be no way. And please don’t mention the Rookie Challenge as a viable credential.

theTKOshowParticipanti’d say if he retired today, he’d be close but the odds would be against him. He had quite a few with the suns that came up short of reaching the finals but was intergral to their success. he showed that this past season when he proved that he wasnt like many past phoenix players (marion, richardson, etc) that had success because they were being spoonfed by nash. before the carmelo trade he still had the knicks in a playoff spot. the guy is unbelievable now that he has added a consistent long range jumper. if it wasnt for all the time hes missed because of injuries, i think hed be a yes by now but because of that, he’ll need a few more productive years before he’s in for sure. having carmelo with him now will probably help him get the team success people want to see on his resume.

jjonzParticipantAre needed with being a Central Scoring figure. I can see a scenario with him & Melo Getting to the ECF against the Heat/Bulls, where he helps NY to the Chip. Plus I think he needs @least one serious MVP run or maybe even an MVP Season to get in. But as of now i don’t think he can get it in.

Memphis MadnessParticipantGuys with worse credentials have gotten in but he is not a LOCK for the Hall of Fame. Like others said, a few more really good years and some deep playoff runs would really help his argument.
This year Amare was an early season favorite for MVP and played great. If that carries over into the next couple of years then Amare will have 3 more all-star appearances, 3 all-NBA teams (at least 3rd team, maybe 2nd team again), and still more points, rebounds, and blocks. If the Knicks can add another star then I can see them making a run for the Eastern Conference title. Three more high level years plus a Finals appearance or (best case scenario) an NBA championship will put him in the Hall of Fame.

HitsterParticipantSTAT will surely be an HOF contender but he has not been to the Finals yet so a few good runs with the Knicks will help his cause. As a Phoenix fan I’d hope that he’d get it but a lot may depend on his next 2 or 3 years in the NBA.
