If the Bobcats could some how get into the top 4 of the 2009 Draft, James Harden would be a great fit for their team. Since their inaugural season the Bobcats hasn’t really had a guy they can lean on to put up buckets, especially in clutch situations. Jason Richardson was suppose to have that role, but it didn’t quite work out the way they would’ve liked. Harden can definitely be that player for them, now that J-Rich is gone. No offense to Raja Bell, but they could use an upgrade at shooting guard. Larry Brown being a old school coach, would definitely appreciate a young kid like Harden, who’s game has so much polish and fundamentals. Emeka Okafor, Boris Diaw, Gerald Wallace, Vladimir Radmanovic, Raja Bell, DJ Augustin, Raymond Felton (if he’s still around, because he’ll be a free agent this off season), Diop, and Harden would make a great nucleus, that can definitely land a playoff spot in 2010. Who knows what can happen on draft lottery night, the ping pong balls just may fall the Bobcats way.

Since they probably won’t move up into the top 3, and instead will probably be at 9 or 10, maybe they reach for Evan Turner instead. He seems to be a consistent jumpshot away from being pretty solid. Anyways, I haven’t watched Charlotte play all year, so I don’t have a clue what they need.

A good second option if James Harden gets drafted before the Bobcats pick, is for them to draft Duke’s Gerald Henderson. Henderson would be a local favorite, being that he plays for Duke, although he’s from Philadelphia. Also, to me he’s the second best shooting guard in this draft, behind Harden. Henderson much like Harden, is polished, he’s a seasoned veteran as he’s a junior, is the go to guy for a program that is lead by a Hall of Fame coach, and he is the son of a former NBA player, so the Bobcats should definitely give him consideration as well.

Don, You know Jordan will royally fuck this pick up and Take Henderson much higher than need be. Hell this is the same guy who thought Kwame Brown was the next great NBA Center. This is also the guy who despite all of Morisons red flags drafted him ahead of Brandon Roy. I’m not saying Hendersons a bad pick, but he’s not a top 5 and I question wether he’s even a top 10 pick in this draft.

They are one team that needs to draft on potential than older players. I don’t know EXACTLY what they need……….. They have all Quality role players with the only player with any potential in DJ. If they can luck up (The bulls did it) and get the first pick then THATS the star they need “BLAKE!!”. They just need a go-to scorer on their team.

i think henderson is a good player but don’t draft him too high because he is a local favorite. that has’t worked out for them yet with sean may and raymond felton. if the bobcats have a pick from 5 to 9 i think henderson is a reach. the bobcats could use almost any position in the draft except pf with okafor. any other position could be upgraded through the draft though. wallace is good, but i think he is more of a third option on a good team. the bobcats need a superstar, that is obvious. but i don’t think they can get one in this draft unless they do get a top 3 or 4 pick.

I saw the bobcats play once this year and man. They have no scorers on their roster (except wallace, kinda). They need blake griffin BAD! their biggest need is a scoring post man from what i saw, but they also need scoring on the perimeter. The only positions they dont really need to worry about in the draft is at point guard, small forward, and center (depending on whether they get griffin). and even those areas could improve their depth alot, even point guard because raymond felton isnt likely to come back to charlotte.

Both Harden and Henderson would do wonders for the Bobcats, like I stated before, Don makes great points.

    harden is and alrite fit

but if they could get griffin

    emeka becomes expanadble

larry brown like players to play their postion

i dont see him sliding okafor back to center thats why he got diop

okafor stats been the same since his rookie year

    might have even went down

thats not good for a second overall

    but 13-10 is good

okafor isnt aggresive hes finnese type player

i hope larry can mold him to b the domint type of pplayer he was in collge

and the bobcats been playing real well recentley
but this is there priorty list
1.harden a nice gaurd u will b getting another brandon royy out of him

i donr really kno there stacked

i advise them not to gamble with jordan hill
i think he isnt the real deal

so i would take earl clark

or trade down and get a good bargin and dajuan blair

    toughest in the draft

    a
    1.

To Trinajoe: Are u serious? This dude dropped 37 points the other night, on a team that’s stacked with talent. Henderson is a poor man’s Dwyane Wade, all he needs to work on is his handle and passing abilities some more. Henderson to me, deserves to be in the top 7 in this draft, he has shown what he is capable of this season and to top it off, he’s a good defender as well.

I wouldn’t like having to choose between Henderson, Willie Warren, Tyreke Evans, and Evan Turner. You know atleast one will be really good and you know atleast one will bust, you just don’t know which one. I think Henderson is the safest pick though.

Personally I think Henderson is a typical Duke player (they never pan out in the pros) I wouldnt pick him in the lottery I would take Willie Warren over Henderson and comparing him to Wade is kind off a reach Wade was the MAN in college

im not saying henderson is a bad player, he could be good. im just saying don’t take him because he plays for a local college team. i like henderson a lot, but duke players always seem to be good role players except for brand and maggette. and jay williams would have been great. i also don’t think henderson comes in right away as a great scorer. His rookie year he won’t get more than 15ppg. is that enough to help the bobcats make the playoffs right away? Raja Bell is not a bad player to start, i think henderson would come off the bench, atleast his first year. Again i am not saying henderson won’t be good, i am saying pick him for the right reasons.

To trinajoe: I wasn’t trying to say for the Bobcats to draft Gerald Henderson because he’s a local product, but I think he’s the second best shooting guard in the draft, after James Harden and they need a 2 guard. That’s why I stated at the very top, if the Bobcats was to land in the top 4, they should pick James Harden, if he already got picked or they pick after top 4, then go with the second best shooting guard in the draft, Gerald Henderson.

I agree. I like henderson a lot. I watched him play last night and he is real good. I think he has a shot to be good in the pros, especially if he plays with the confidence he has had since about mid january

James harden is tough and he would be a great fit for the bobcats unless they wnat to get another bigman to play next to okafor in browns slow offence. but i have to dissagree on the henderson talk i think he would be a bad pick for the bobcats and not because he sucks or anything like that but they need a go to scorer and a guy that they can lean on in situations but henderson isent that guy at duke why would he be that way in the nba even better comp. he is a great athlet and gets to teh rim pretty well but he dosent have great size for the nba and he dosent handle very well and his jump shot is not so good sxpecially from three where its only ganna get farther away at the next level yes u mentioned d wade above and hes a poor mans dwade but i dont even think that hes not the handler that wade is or got near the body control to really be a GREAT slasher like wade so i think he can be good in a system but not for the bobcats to lean on
