OhCanada-ParticipantThis years recruiting process for some of the worlds most talented youth players is really starting to become interesting. Especially amongst these three players a storyline seems to be developing. Andre Drummond and Shabazz Mohammed seem to be sharing the #1 recruit position. Anthony Bennett is shooting up the recruiting boards and is a top 25 recruit for 2012.
The main belief is that Andre Drummond will go to Uconn or enter his name in the NBA Draft 2012, that Shabazz Mohammed will be going to UCLA or stay home at UNLV, and that Anthony Bennett will be going to Uconn, or UNLV.
My question for you is how would you like to see this play out?
I think that Drummond will take his time and go to Uconn to develop and mature as a man, Anthony Bennett will go to uconn as well to create a powerhouse team, and Mohammed will go to UCLA with another high rated player like Kyle Anderson and create a powerhouse Pac-10 team.
Although I would like to see Drummond enter the NBA draft, and see Bennett, and Mohammed play at UNLV because Vegas really deserves to have a team to be very proud of at a higher level then just Highschool. LV has done a great job at developing young basketball players for many years and deserves a nationally competitive UNLV team.

hiphopismylifeParticipantI’d like to see Drummond in college because I love seeing guys come in with a lot of buzz and wondering if they’ll live up to it. But his comments about not wanting to talk to coaches because he doesn’t want to pretend he’s interested tells me he’s thinking NBA. If that meant he knew he was going to UConn, why wouldn’t he commit?
In Muhammad’s case, UCLA is a good move on paper because of the history and the fact that they haven’t had a primetime player in several years. He could have a significant part in teir history, while all many other schools on his list could offer him is being "the next guy." But with that being said, Ben Howland’s system doesn’t seem to favor guys coming in and really exploding on the scene like i’m sure he’d like to do. I’m a UNC and Indiana fan, so I don’t have much love for Kentucky and Duke, but as an impartial fan of the game i’d rather see him go to either of those schools where he could have a great (only?) season and really be a name in college basketball, rather than average 12 ppg before bolting for the league.Then again, UCLA needs him more than those other programs, which could leave an opportunity to be the guy from day one.
But if I had to pick i’d like to see him at UNLV, just to see the level of impact he could have on trying to take the program to another level.
Don’t know much about Anthony Bennett….

DunksNJordans23ParticipantDrummond should go to Kentucky this year, team would be insane or at least have insane potential. I know we all love that "p" word when talking about basketball players.

mikeyvthedonParticipantDrummond=NBA
Muhammad and Bennett=UK
I have a feeling that Drummond will never don a college uni, yet still be the odds on favorite due to his size, skill set and athleticism. Shabazz may very well stay out west, as will Bennett, but I have marked both of them as potential Wildcats targets. Just think it will happen, Bennett is planning a visit, and Muhammad already has. Would not be surprised if these two were college teammates, but would now be really surprised if Drummond ever ends up on a college campus. I do not know all of the circumstances as to why, but it seems like Andre is not college bound and fully intends to enter the 2012 Draft.
Also, it is now the Pac-12. UCLA used to be the favorite for Shabazz, and they still have a chance, but I believe he might be looking at other alternatives. Dominic Artis and Jordan Adams already have stated there intentions to become Bruins, and I believe that Kyle Anderson seems to be going between running point at Seton Hall or St. John’s (the leader). I have a major gut feeling that Bennett gets lured to play for Calipari, just has seemed like a fit as soon as he started tearing things up in the Spring.

DunksNJordans23ParticipantI have that feeling about him too. I think I can speak for the majority of the members on this site when I say this, but I would love to see him play some college games this year opposed to him staying in HS another year and maybe getting one or two espn broadcasts.
