whatsup members of this forum. im  sure this topic was discussed already, but i missed it. and im sorry if it was a topic many times but i was just curious how you guys think this backcourt will do? and overall how this team will do. they have tyreke evans, jimmer fredette and demarcus cousins, am i missing anyone?

my thoughts. i think this team is gonna be alot like the warriors from 4 or 5 years ago. with baron davis and jason richardson, and they knocked off the mavs the number 1 seed in the first round. they might have trouble stopping other back courts, but alot of other teams back courts are really gonna have trouble with them. while tyreke can drive and score, jimmer is a complimentary player who can catch and shoot. and if he catches fire they can never double him. leaving single coverage on tyreke evans.

This team will set back defence 30 years, probably rally a campaign to the NBA to use 3 balls in a game, Cousins will fight Jimmer for shooting too much and not giving him the ball in one of the most lopsided fights in eternity and end up in Las Vegas where high rollers can bet on Kings games going over or under 300 points.

IDK why but I really like the look of this team.. You mentioned 3 players but there are sooo many more bright spots for this team.

Yeah, Jimmer, Tyreke, and Demarcus but what about:

Marcus Thornton – Great scorer and could be a starting guard if the played a little better defense.. He can shoot, attack, and even play some point when needed.. Could be the 6th man of the year.

Jason Thompson – Not many people are high on this guy but I love him as a PF.  He is 6’11 and plays with a very fluid motion to his game.. He can play some C and he played some 3 last year.. This kid has the potiental. Scary word..

Hassan Whiteside – Shot blocking specialist.. If he gains some weight, he can be the perfect compliment to Cousins.  Long, athletic, and has a knack for timing.  While at Marshall, showed the ability to go off the dribble and even shoot with some decent range..

Isaiah Thomas – What is in a name?  Alot for this guy.. I think he could be the steal of the draft.. He is a proven winner and is a worker.. Super quick and has an exploseive kind of game.. Yea he is small but not like everyone thought. He is strong and showed that he can run a team.. Will that translate to the NBA? IDK… This guy could be a Spud Webb/Nate Robinsin type of player…

Donte Greene – Greene is probably already the player he is going to be for the bulk of his career.. However, he is a nice complement.. 6’11 SF with a nice stroke and the ability to go off the dribble either past of over a guy.. Nice skill set just not alot of time for him previously.

JJ Hickson – This guy could be one of the most exciting players in the league.. He has a bounce like Griffin and Amare but he doenst play like they do.. He isnt assertive and doesnt go hard all the time.. If he can get out in the open court and have someone feed him the ball, he could be a special player for the Kings.. At worst, he is Carl Landry and gives them a legit big off the bench.

Tyler Honeycutt – Yeah I said Thomas could be the steal of the draft but only because he was the last pick. I said before the draft that I thought either Tyler Honneycutt or Jeremy Tyler were gonna be the best players out of this draft. IDK if I am gonna stand by that statement but I do think that Honeycutt is going to be in the league a long time and be a nice player.. UCLA guys have a knack for coming into the league with a bang. Honeycutt has some very nice offensive games at UCLA even though the offense wasnt set up for any one person to go off..  Could be special..

So you need to do some looking at the team again, Steven, because you left out alot of important players…

They got talent, but from what Antoine Wright said, they don’t even have scouting reports. Apparently Cousins is even more immature than was thought at the time of the draft and there jsut isn’t enough veteran presence. Unless you count John Salmons and Francisco Garcia, neither of which I would say are going to enspie a team in the locker room. Alas, they could make a maor push if everyone plays up to par with a winning attitude. Reke’ absolutely MUST hit his jumpers this year and DeMarcus absolutely MUST stop taking them.

cbelford: You sound like a Ute fan / BYU hater.  Jimmer will prove he is much more than just a shooter and the Kings will love him.

I really don’t know, but I have to thank Jimmer, cause if it weren’t for him, what would we say when we take 30 foot shots? LeBrick?

You didnt provide any information to back up your statement on how Jimmer apperently is "not that good" and "overrated"

You didnt make one valid point

So stop posting and stop taking little txting shortcuts to spell faster when you hardly type any information

let me ask everyone a queston will jimmer be able to guard his position? i will answer it for you absolutely not paul, nash, westbrook, rose, williams etc won’t come close to staying with them and on the other end of the court with the exception of nash they will bottle him up. he has never shown any type of pg skills or the ability to create for others and for everyone that is going to argue that he averaged 4ast ai averaged 7 ast just saying it’s not like those were quality assist plus he will not be able to come up court and pull for from 30 feet in the nba especially with all of the scorers on his team evans, thorton, cousins, salmons, and hickson. plus i don’t think he will be able to get his own shot. he will not avg 10 pts

They should work well offensively together, with Reke handling most the PG duties and Fredette spacing the floor. On defense they will be atrocious, and Cousins will be an average defending center at best so won’t be able to cover it up.

cbelford: The reason Jimmer got drafted #10 was because he was able to show teams that he was more athletic than lot of people thought, he could move his feet better than people thought and he was able to stay in front of his man on D . He won’t be a dinamite defender but he will be adequate. Your wrong about him being able to create his own shot, he will be able to create his own shot and not just for himself but for his teammates too.

Like I said, you sound like a Ute fan or a BYU hater. Jimmer will prove his season wasn’t a fluke.
