DunksNJordans23ParticipantSo supposedly there will be a meeting within the first 2 weeks of August. How much progess do you think will be made? Could we possibly be looking at an 82 game season or closer to a 50 game season like in 1998? In the new CBA do you think they will lift the age and make it so player must be at least 2 years removed or do they go back to allowing HS players enter the draft? Any other notes/idea’s are welcome, this is the only place I get to talk and hear about basketball since the lockout.

Toronto16ParticipantI really think (well, more hope) there will be a full season. This past NBA season was too good for them to kill the momentum.
The age limit will not be lifted at all. It is still going to be 19 years old.
They need to do something to fix the contracts, so guys like Luol Deng and Andre Iguodala are not so grossly overpaid. They also need to shorten the number of years in a max deal, or at the very least give teams a chance to opt out of the deal after 4 years or so, so that you don’t have these franchise crippling long term deals.
I personally think the NBA needs a franchise tag and teams need to do revenue sharing.

DunksNJordans23ParticipantI really hope there is a full season as well. I have heard some whirlwinds about the opt-out cluase you mentioned. I think that would be a great addition since there will more than likely be a hard cap.

Jlv2011I’m not worrying about it until Labor Day. The NBA really doesn’t want to lose games right now since audits revealed that the NBA’s income increased 5% this past season. A significant jump from previous seasons.
