WizardofOzParticipantHe barely even jumped. I though it would be harder for him.

Lotto StudParticipantI’m sure he can jump off 2 feet still if he jumps with ease like that.

TallmanNYCParticipantOf course he can. The guy is like 6′ 5" and had a 48" jump back in the day. With his long arms and huge hands, he probably reaches nearly 9′ standing on the ground. He would only need about a 20" jump to dunk (you need to get up to about 10′ 8" to be able to get the ball above the rim to do a legitimate dunk). I hope he is still dunking into his 60’s and I expect he will be able to unless he has some serious physical problems from all his playing days.

MJBrownParticipantOkay TallmanNYC, Jordan was definitely a freak of an athlete, but nowhere have I ever seen 48" vertical associated with Jordan. I’ve read every Jordan book and article over the last 20 years and I’ve seen anywhere between 39 and 44 inches recorded. Can you please send me your source, I’d love to see who has recorded MJ jumping 48". Do the math, if Jordan would have his head 6 inches over the rim. Never seen that before.
