tghink about it a bit like this. If Greg Oden had a good first 3 seasons, wins and MVP and guides his team deep into the playoffs and then he had his long string of injurys now.

Its Strange that Shaq was named 1 of The 50 Greatest Players of All Time..And he had only been in the league 3 or 4 years..Some said it was Conversial that he was named to the team in such a short span…So if Shaq’s career had ended in 1996..Would the same people that voted him to the 50 Greatest also vote him into the Hall?

I think being the youngest ever MVP winner might get him in even if he has a career ending injury in the next few years. ROY, MVP, two-time All-Star already, and leading his team to best record in the NBA in just his third season, a case could be made that he’s already accomplished enough to be in consideration.

he has the 8th most MVP shares of any active player and 4 out of those 8 are past their primes.  what that says to me is, if he keeps producing the way he did last season, he will be in the top 5 MVP voting for many years to come.
