llperezmy guess would be if you have no resume or background in coaching/scouting, you better be ready to do free intern work for some small comunity college or something and work your way up.

MagikKnickParticipantYeah, you’d probably need a really good connection or be ready to be an intern for a really small school.

RUDEBOY_ParticipantIts funny, but alot of college scouts and ass. coaches really dont start off looking to go into that field….Things happen and they end up in those jobs…And its also a case of being in the right place at the right time..I doubt you’re get a job right away doing 1 of those jobs….Maybe you can start off by getting a job in the Athletic Department and work from there..And having a positive attitude and being a good people person and a good communicator helps ..that will get you up the ladder faster…

JNixonParticipantI want to be a scout and I took advise about this, and here’s what you do:
Take classes in the Health and Human Services field (Sports Medicine, Physical Education, Athletic Coaching, Athletic Training, etc…) at a college. You should probably major in one of those.
Try to latch on to the schools basketball team, as a manager more than likely. Get in with the coaches, and try to pick their brains. Even come up with ideas sporadically, if you’re 100% sure it is worth mentioning.
LEARN HOW TO BREAK DOWN FILM AND STATS.
It’s good to get on with the schools team as early as possible, probably by your Soph. year if possible, but Jr. year at the latest.
