MagikKnickParticipantHe’ll likely run the PG spot, therefore he’ll be the one will the ball in his hands most of the time, and as you saw at BYU, Jimmer doesnt hesitate to dribble and launch.

I really do not believe he will have the ball in his hands more then Tyreke, and it would not benefit the Kings if he did.

scliddiardParticipantThe reason the Kings drafted Jimmer is because they want to have Tyreke play the 2, they want Jimmer to have the ball in his hands more, you won’t see Jimmer shooting a fourth as much as he did at BYU but you’ll see him more as a creator/facilitator. Jimmer will have plenty of opportunities to shoot, I just don’t think that will be his priority, he wants to prove he can be a true point guard. The fact he can shoot very well and has good handles and can create makes the D play him honest and will give him opportunities to find an open teammate. I’d be real surprised if Jimmer wasn’t the main facilitator for the Kings. That doesn’t mean Tyreke won’t get his shots and have plenty of chances to create on his own but the reason they drafted Jimmer was because they don’t think Tyreke is a true point & they think Jimmer can be.

scliddiardParticipantThe reason the Kings drafted Jimmer is because they want to have Tyreke play the 2, they want Jimmer to have the ball in his hands more, you won’t see Jimmer shooting a fourth as much as he did at BYU but you’ll see him more as a creator/facilitator.

JNixonParticipantYou don’t understand basketball if you think Fredette won’t score 10 ppg for the Kings. Plain and simple.

cbelfordParticipantso 4 everyone thats on team jimmer. first of all the coaching staff did not want him they did everything to prove that he is not that great so lets call a spade a spade he got drafted to keep the seats filled. second he is not playing 4 golden st. so he won’t be able 2 pull at will. 3rd he is not a pg he is a 6’2 shooting unathletic 2 guard who will not be able 2 create 4 himself or others. don’t get me wrong i like jimmer but i’m a realist he will b able 2 play but will not b the star everyone thinks he will be.

BasketBalAllanParticipantI seriously doubt the Kings will want Jimmer to be their primary ball handler, but he will get so many open / slightly contested jump shots he would have to try in order to get less than 10 ppg.

BasketBalAllanParticipantHe has been the subject of four documentaries and at least one significant misconception – that the Kings’ owners dictated his selection at No. 10 for marketing purposes, upsetting the coaches and other front office staff. Not true. Not even close to true. Westphal signed on for Jimmermania when the BYU star completed his predraft workout at the Kings’ practice facility. Basketball president Geoff Petrie, who makes the final decisions, liked Connecticut guard Kemba Walker, but he loves shooters. He was leaning toward Fredette when Charlotte grabbed Walker at No. 9, rendering further debate moot."And let me tell you something about Geoff," Kings co-owner Gavin Maloof said Saturday. "When you bring up the marketing (potential of) a player, it’s like giving the kid the death sentence. Geoff doesn’t like it. He doesn’t like it. He says, ‘Picking the best player and winning games will take care of marketing.’ "Read more: http://www.sacbee.com/2011/06/26/3727942/ailene-voisin-jimmermania-to-test.html#ixzz1SJieoANo
