paradigmnParticipantTime to represent our HOME states!!! Looking for your all-time starting 5 from your home state.
RULES:
(1)Player must be originally from your state and played at least 1 year High School ball there. EXAMPLE-Kevin Garnett played his last 3 years of HS ball in Chicago but is from South Carolina originally and played there his freshmen year, thus he would be considered on the South Carolina team. Also, just going to your state to play college ball does NOT count. Player must originally be from your state.
(2)Player must have or currently does play in the NBA.
(3)Build your starting 5 any way you want. There is NO set position. I wanted to have a player from all 5 positions, but in my state I had NO good small forwards or shooting guards and too many centers, so I had to adjust accordingly.
Well here it is. My team is from CONNECTICUT. I’ll go on record right now and say it’s not very strong…lol…but it’s all I had to work with.

paradigmnParticipantWith SHAQ…even though he was born in New Jersey…he didn’t play any high school basketball there….all his HS ball was played in Texas. If he had just played 1 year of HS ball in New Jersey, then he could be considered for the New Jersey squad…..remember….even if they are born in a certain state, unless they play 1 year of HS ball there, there not eligible for that state.

Great guards, great back court depth. Some decent small forward role players (Askew and Henderson). One solid NBA center (starter), one lottery pick bust (Bedford), and Popeye Jones is the only real power forward who was a decent NBA player. Shawne Williams is more of a 3. Finch was a great college player and a great scorer but he never played in the NBA.

paradigmnParticipantThis is awesome…THANX EVERYONE for participating….its cool to see where everyone is from and then compare the squads that represent their home states….maybe we could get all 50 states up…so far so good though….unfortunetly….I think my team from CONNECTICUT would have gotten destroyed by every team on this list…LOL

GlenTaylorSucksParticipantMinnesota’s team is absolutely terrible. Therefore I’m only naming 3 players to the all state team
Kevin McHale
Joel Pryzbilla
Kris Humphries
This is seriously the best we’ve got. Maybe someday, Cole Aldrich will be on that list. But damn, the basketball talent is weak here. Lol

paradigmnParticipantreally….COME ON dude….LOL…normally I’d try not to call some one out, but I made this thread and I am from CT, so MARCUS CAMBY is on my team….lol….read my directions….just cuz a player plays there college ball in a certain state, they must have originally been from that state as well as have played at least 1 year HS ball there. Marcus Camby born and raised in Hartord CT, and played all his HS ball there….I can barely put a team together from CONNECTICUT and you are trying to steal my best player….LOL.

BajeebzParticipantumm…Phil Jackson. He’s the player and the coach. And that’s it. Jeff Boschee was a McDonalds All American and played four years at Kansas back in the day, but he never tried to make the League. I think it is safe to say that Nodak is the least talented basketball state in America. Hard to believe I lived there for almost 20 years.

Pistol Pete. The PelicanParticipantIf this is by birth state, my lineup would be
Joe Dumars at the 1
Clyde Drexler at the 2
Marques Johnson (the original point forward) at the 3
Karl Malone at the 4
Bill Russell at the 5
Avery Johnson backup 1
Marcus Thornton backup 2
Danny Granger backup 3
Bob Pettit at backup 4
