MCRIZZParticipantAlright so I was bored and with very little nba news to talk about I was wondering what everyone’s top 5 favourite basketball moments are and what the 5 moments you wish you could simply erase from history would be?
Here are mine….
Favourite moments:
1. Steve Nash 2 time MVP – Being Canadian I believe that when this guy won those back to back MVP’s it paved the way for a new generation of young canadians to take interest in the NBA
2. Tristan Thomspon pick #4 – Once again a huge step for Canada basketball
3. Dunk contest 2000 – Although I hate the guy, the show Vince put on in this dis actually one of the reasons I started watching Basketball
4. Ali Farokhmanesh – That run by northern iowa in the NCAA tourney was just great to watch
5. DD / Joakim Noah – My favourite two ball players and anytime I watch them play I am reminded why I love bball
Least Favourite moments:
1. Jose Calderon pass – That final pass that ended the season for the 3 seed raptors….Calderon just had to dump it inside to bosh for the layup an to continue the series but RJ leaped up snatched the pass and ended the season for the rapts
2. Vince – Everything after that dunk comp pretty much (not wanting to dunk, admitting to not playing hard, killing the rapts when he returns) but most of all that fadeaway miss in the 2001 game 7 series against the sixers
3. Drafting haffa – Why just why? rafael araujo
4. Losing chuck swirsky – That man was a genius on the mic, and we end up getting fat devlin…yikes
5. Flopping- not a fan of flopping in general, I like hard nose defensive games (thanks vlade)
Clearly I am biased as a raptor fan and most of my moments come from my favourite team…but most likely so will yours…So with that said what is everyone else’s favourite moments, and least favourite moments in basketball?

aamir543ParticipantI don’t mean to be a douche, but there was a similar thread to this a couple weeks ago, but nice idea.
http://www.nbadraft.net/forum/your-favoite-playoff-moment
Heck I’ll do it anyways
1. The Warriors magical playoff run in 07.- As a Golden State fan, that was crazy!
2. Derek Fisher’s .4 shot- As a 7 year old bandwagon fan, I liked the Lakers, maybe not anymore, but this shot brings back memories
3. Lebron’s shot over Turkgolu in the 09 playoffs- When the Warriors aren’t playing, I am nuetral most of the time, but I love to see closely contested playoff matches, expecially buzzer beaters like that.
4. The Warriors drafting Steph Curry- I remember pacing the house, hoping Curry would last, after Sacramento, all that was left was David Kahn, and ever since I have loved his moves, and we got Curry.
5. Celts-Bulls playoff sieres 09- Wow, that was classic. I remember Joakim Noah going coast to coast for the three point play. But the hustle on that play by both Noah and Peirce was symboic of the grind between the two teams.
Least favourite moments
1. The whole 08 season- We won 48 games in an extremely tough conference after starting off 0-6, would have had home court in the East, but got nothing in the West.
2. The way the refs treated the Mavs in 06- Watch this , this made me feel even better for the Mavds this year.
3. The brawl in the Palace- All of that could have easily been avoided if Reggie Miller had worked out more, lol.(Ron Artest was laying on hte scorers table, and Reggie was keeping him there and trying to restrain him, it seemed like Ron was calm, when all of a sudden some idiot fan threw somthing, and then Reggie couldn’t hold him down.)
Can’t think of anymore, but good post nonetheless.

MCRIZZParticipant^ that was an unreal season by paul and was the only reason I thought rose wasnt gonna be mvp this year….Nba has weird standards…..I also completely agree with you that monroe and knight are the only mainstays on the pistons, those contracts of rip/charlie v/ wilcox/ben gordon really hurt

MCRIZZParticipantThat was truly, a remarkable performance by tmac (13 point comeback) and if not for injuries that man could still be tearing the league up….

aamir543ParticipantAbout Paul getting robbed of the MVP award, Paul should have gotten it, but let’s face, although Paul may have had a slightly better season, Kobe deserved it three other years and got robbed. If not three, than 2006 for sure. No one gets 35 ppg for 82 games in a whole season. I don’t care how much you have to ballhog. He was the MVP for sure.

ChewyParticipantPositives (kept to only one Jordan moment cuz there are too many)
1. Jordan’s jumper over Russel
2. Rose’s dunk over Dragic
3. Noah Talking trash about the city of Cleveland
4. Asik’s "what I do?" look when he hacks someone
5. How you can hear Boozer over every other player on the court reguardless of TV station.
Negative
1. Marcus F.I.Z.E.R
2. Trading away Kirk
3. Consistant lack of offense all year
4. Tib’s voice
5. Riensdorf (admitted he would trade his 6 NBA rings for 1 world series. Why is he allowed to still own them after admitting somthing like that!)
