What should each of these SG improve on next year. And what impact will each have.

NYoung. Defense & shot selection.   Outlook ??? Can he put up big # after he gets his $. A lot of guys lose their drive after they get a big pay check.

DDerozan Defense & 3 point shooting.   Outlook AllStar Potential. The 3rd year is when GM expect a player to have a breakout year.  i think Derozan will be the 1st option on Offense with avg’s of 21ppg/43% fg/35% 3’s

TEvans. Health, JumpShot & Vision.    Outlook Another 3rd year guy that has to show that the ROY is the Real player. If he is healthy i expect Reke to have a great year

OJMayo No More fights with TAllen(Stop gambling on the Plane)    Shot selection, Ego check. Outlook If he can accept his role as a 3rd option in Memphis, he can thrive, if not i could see him being shipped out.

AAffalo. Off the dribble moves & MidRange game. Outlook He is a great 3rd-4th option that plays excellent defense. He could move to a contender & help a team over the Hump ( Hello, Bulls)

EGordon. Health & being more aggressive. Is he a Borderline Star that the Clipps can invest in, I think this is the Season we find out.

ETurner. Confidence & JumpShot Iggy trade (this will open up more of the offense for him) Outlook During the season i read an article talking about ET working with a renowned Jumpshooting coach in the Philly area. I hope this pays off & increases his confidence when he plays

JCrawford. The Wizards got a steal for Captain Kirk (Jordan Crawford & CSingleton). Shot selection & Defense. Outlook Can he keep up the torrid pace that he set @ the end of last year?

JHardin. Focus & Drive. Outlook. He was arguably the 2nd best player for the Thunder in the playoffs, this is another 3rd year guy that has to breakout for a full season before a team invest in him.

Can Landry Fields get some love if you’re going to put up a 28 year old, role playing Aaron Affalo on this list?

J.R. Smith. Work Ethic, Shot Selection, Consistency.  Superstar Potential but an Allen Iverson type attitude about practice and working.

Role players can start too AgentZero. Affalo is a good player but let’s not act like he is some up-and-coming talent. He’s 28 years old and isn’t exactly going to develop into some core member of a winning team like those other guys on this list. To be perfectly honest, I think he needs to leave the Nuggets ASAP because that team will need major reconstruction to compete in the future. Having a winning record during 25-ish games is cute but I don’t think they have the talent to make the playoffs out West in an 82 games season.

    Your writeup was on point.

But Nick Young is actually a pretty solid defender now. He’s a good man-to-man defender, but his team defense still needs some work.

And I completely agree about what you said about DeRozan. I’m not sure he’ll ever be a good defender or 3-point shooter though because he has poor lateral quickness, and he shot one of the worst 3-point % of all time. But you know he has the work ethic to improve. He’s improved so much from his time at USC, and after the season ended, when most people choose to rest their bodies, he was still working out on his jumpshot. That’s dedication right there. I think he’ll make another giant leap next year.

I think of all these 2 guards Derozan and Harden make the biggest leaps this year. Derozan is going to seperate himself from the rest of the Raptors as the go to guy and Harden is going to turn into one of the best 3rd options in the league. I agree that Affalo can be a huge player for a contending team even though I’m not convinced he helps the Bulls out that much because they need someone who can create their own shot and I see him needing a playmaking PG to be really effective. I think OJ Mayo would be the perfect player for the Bulls especially after he just had his first taste of the playoffs and now that he has an idea of what it takes to win. The Grizzlies would be smart to move Mayo now before another off court issue drops his value back down to the Josh McRoberts level he was at right before the trade deadline.

Eric Gordon is my favourite NBA SG. I’m obviously biased due to being a Clippers fan but I also think this guy can really be special. I think they need to put the ball in his hands more and let him create for himself and his teammates. I know his assist numbers are low but I think he could get that up over five a game if they ran more plays for him with the ball in his hands. Now that Baron Davis (needs ball to contribute) is gone and Mo Williams (loves just spotting up for threes) I can see EJ taking more of a score first PG role on this team.

James Harden needs to start.  He adds a ton of ballance to the Thunder.  Good ball handler and facilitator and a good scorer.  Start him then bring some firepower off the bench.  I think Reggie Jackson should get a look as the "go-to guy" off the bench on offense.  … without Harden starting there are only really two scorers in the starting lineup which is not enough.  Harden is a great 3rd option for the Young Big Three in Oklahoma City.  They can then use Thabo’s defense off the bench with Nick Collison’s defense and energy and they will allow the Thunder to maintain leads.  I just think you need 3 offensive weapons starting.  Even the Mavs did better when they started JJ Barea for offense then brought Deshawn Stevenson in the game for energy and toughness.

I think that OJ Mayo needs to come off the bench for the Grizzlies since they already have 4 good scorers in the starting lineup and they can use OJ like a Jason Terry instant-offense guy off the bench.  Plus he can handle the ball and pass some and works well with Greivous Vasquez.

Arron Afflalo is actually 25 right now. He turns 26 in September. He was drafted in 2008, and is just entering his prime. He has gotten better each year. And last year, he looked like a much improved all-around player. I think he still has room for improvement, as well.

add to Evan Turner, continue to work on playing                                                                                          off the ball which includes stand still shooting, cutting, playing off picks, weak side offensive rebounding
