ghrghrParticipantSaw his game yesterday against Argentina in the FIBA U-19 tournament. He was pretty impressive playing against players his age.
Defensively, he cannot play at the professional level, but he shows a lot of promise, being huge and pretty quick on his feet. He also has amazing jumping ability and really goes hard at the boards. He blocked one or two shots, altered a few more and kept the Argentinian team away from the paint on many plays.
Offensively, he had one pretty nice spin move, but that was all he did with his back to the basket. The rest of his points(he really took over in the 4th) were on layups, dunks, putbacks and one amazing alley-oop, with a high pass, his head was maybe over the rim when he caught it. He did miss the final shot that could have won the game, but it was contested, I don’t blame him.
The most important thing now for Bebe is to get stronger, but with a good program that tries to keep as much of his speed and hops as possible. He really has amazing athletic ability and surprised me with a pretty decent basketball I.Q.(meaning he doesn’t make TERRIBLE decisions, bad ones sometimes) and barring injury or some psychological problems he’ll be a decent player in the NBA, maybe a starter on a team that doesn’t need much scoring from their C.

HitsterParticipantI see he’s now listed as 60th pick in Aran’s 2013 early mock so Bebe is a true long term prospect. No doubt someone will draft him when he declares or becomes eligible but where he goes will depend hugely on how he develops.

JoeWolf1He’s really long, but isn’t a very good athlete. I know combine numbers don’t always indicate a player’s effectiveness. The kid has a monster wingspan and he looks to have pretty good timing rebounding and blocking shots around the rim, but Bebe has a terrible 17” standing vert and a 21” max vert and has average speed for a big man.
I’ve seen him play and his long arms give him the illusion that he’s jumping really high, but it’s really just his 7’5” wingspan, this also alows him to get fairly high on his 2nd jump. The guy has some potential if he can gain some weight (which may help with his athleticism) but to say he is an amazing raw athlete is just not true.

Counting StarsParticipantHe’s an international player and his last name is somewhat tough to pronounce. I’d say that gives him a good shot at getting taken at least in the last 8 picks.
