canesboy6ParticipantRay Mcallum, from Detroit. Kid is an animal, really good all around point guard, a strong 6’1, explosive, quick, he’s got all the goods. People will question the competition he faced, but he played Butler, Syracuse, Norris Cole and Cleveland State. And his dad is his coach, so the system is pretty much designed for him to wreak havoc on both sides of the ball.
Pg is a strong position in next years class. I’m high on Malik from Nova, Siva from Louisville, Kendall Marshall, as well as Kabongo and Teague. But in all of college ball right now, I think Id go with Mcallum as my point guard, I think he is going to be an all american type player this year.

Scottoant93ParticipantI remember i read an article on him a while back, thought it was a great story that he choose to go to school his dad coached at instead of going to a big school, if he leads detroit to the tournament then he will get attention sort of like stephen curry at davidson.
also sidenote- what happened to changing your username if the heat lost haha

JaeEvolutionParticipantFor some reason I see a lot of Devin Harris in him, strong at attacking the rim, finishing through contact, decent jumper, and is really quick with the ball in his hands.

JordanC20ParticipantPlaying for his dad he is more than likely to stay all four years. I agree though that he does have talent.

Cardinal_FanParticipantMcCallum is a guy who was a McDonalds All-American that turned down the likes of UCLA, Arizona, Florida, and Syracuse. You can make the case that if he went to one of those higher level schools and put up the same numbers he would have been taken in the 1st round this year.

B FreeParticipantI remember the Steph Curry comparison was the one people were going with for him until he was in the Mcdonalds All American dunk contest and showed all that expolsivness. Now I dont know who he reminds me of .

Bryant24ParticipantYeah he has talent no doubt but alot of these plays he forced the shot rather than pass to an open teammate he is an nba prospect and should put up big numbers next season but he must have trust issues with his teammates. He reminds me of Devin Harris too.

bdiddy5115ParticipantWhen his dad coached at UofH, I attended his camp when I was like 11. Ray was one of the best players in our age group, but I had no idea he was 2-3 years younger (his dad put him in a higher age understandably).
Cool to see him do well, but I’m yet to see the "pure point" skills that some described him as having out of HS.

canesboy6ParticipantNobody ever gave me the screen name to change it too. Still dont know how we messed that up.
But ya, I think Mcallum can pass. He averaged 5 assists per game. He obviously isnt playing with premier talent.

GrandmamaParticipantI see a poor man’s Monta Ellis, is he a pure point? Haven’t seen much of him but from that highlight video it appears he’d rather shoot than pass.

cward23ParticipantGood player. You actually don’t have to play with top talent to rack up assists. That kinda Hinders you if you play with guys who need to put it on the floor to score. Looks like more of a undersized shooting guard. Doubt if he goes lotto even if he has the talent to unless her puts up insane numbers while leading his team to alot of whens( thats the only way, as a pg, to go lotto from a smaller school ala S.Curry,J.Nelson) and even then its not always a given

mwalling2117ParticipantWhen I watch him play I think of the franchise himself Steve Francis. Great scorer, but if he is the starting PG on your favorite NBA team, you would not be doing to well.

rydawgswParticipantI watched him last year in the McDonalds game, as well as dunk contest.. I was incredibly impressed with him, and knew instantly he was an NBA type of player.. I was shocked when I read he was heading to Detroit, but his father being the coach makes much more sense..
I’m not 100% sold on lottery pick, mainly because the lottery next year is already loaded.. However, I’d be shocked if he fell past 20th (assuming he comes out)..
