Jayhawks2011ParticipantHe opted out of his contract. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/basketball/nba/06/30/los.angeles.lakers.shannon.brown.ap/index.html?sct=nba_t2_a6
Where will he fit? obvious choice would be Bulls a team in desperate need of a SG.
Where do you think he will end up? It will be a while until we find out where he goes but what team do you think he ends up with?

Winning_TimeParticipantI’d like for him to be a Clipper out of entertainment value but maybe Pheonix or New York with their up tempo offenses. He’s still a bench player in my mind.

Cincinatti BowtiesParticipantI think he should stay in LA, and try and take Fisher’s spot when he retires. I think he could be a starter. Not a great one, but solid. He has really improved his shot, is an amazing athlete, and good defender. Not a pure point, but he wouldn’t have to be in the triangle(if they still play it). Overall I think he can be a very good player in the league. He’s only 25. I personally would also like to see him go somewhere he could challenge for a starting role.

yellowdunkerParticipantmost Defly not the Bulls last time he played for them he averaged 2.1 mins a game im pretty sure there not a option. In coach thibs game style I’ll rather keep Bogans then Brown starting at SG in my opinion I dont think he fit the system.

RUDEBOY_ParticipantShannon had been traded several times and was out of the league until the Lakers signed him..Dont be FOOLED by his few minutes of exciting plays..He was given a chance in Cleveland and proved he wasnt a good enuff shooter to be a starting shooting guard and didnt have the ball handling skills to be a point guard…..He’s only effective in limited minutes..

bigdaddybluesmanParticipantI watched him play and he has no real game. A very forgettable player. He has talent and physical ability but just kind of disappears most of the time. Some times I would see him make a good play and then nothing. To me that screams BENCH. He’s a player who comes off the bench and when he’s playing well he’s an asset, when he’s not he sits.
Unless he takes this time to really get some consistency and go to moves he’ll always be a bench player like so many other marginal NBA players who should be better then they are. It’s up to him on how good he can be. But I just don’t see the drive to be a great player in him.

surveParticipantyes, he is mostly style over substance and I agree, he doesnt appear to have the drive because when you think about it, how has he really improved? the only thing that jumps out about him is his atheletic ability.

Memphis MadnessParticipantI can see Miami taking a shot at him if Mario Chalmers leaves.
I think he is a good combo guard off the bench. Not really a starter though. I think that Minnesota should take a shot at him since he can play some backup 1 and 2. He would also be veteran with championship experience.
If the Bulls can’t get anyone else then Shannon Brown would make some sense as a backup combo guard who can score some and provide energy. Then they could go small with a lineup of Rose, Brown, Brewer, Gibson, and Noah to porvide quickness and athleticism.
He’s a good free agent but teams have to know what they are getting. He’s a high level role player who can get the crowd going, make some highlight plays, and score in bunches if he is in the zone. He’s not a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd option but he is a pretty good 6th or 7th man.
… he might also be a good fit on the Celtics. They miss Tony Allen’s quickness, athleticism, and energy. Brown could do some of that and play both guard positions. The Celtics would then have 3 good young players off the bench in Shannon Brown, JuJuan Johnson, and Jeff Green. If they got a solid center then the Celtics could probably make one more run.
