We don’t know that much about what NBA teams are thinking. For example, I made a topic two days ago where the Cavs and Pistons made a trade. It was JJ Hickson for Rodney Stuckey.

Most of you threw hate all over it saying there is no way in hell the Cavs would do it. They like Hickson too much to let me go. Well they just gave up Hickson for a Role Player and a MAX protected pick. The Cavs most likely won’t get this pick from the Kings till 2016!

What I’m trying to say is…. When reading about someones idea, don’t act like you know whats going to happen or what should happen. You can disagree with it… But in disagreeing don’t put down something like " OMG the Cavs would never do that!!! Worst trade ever!! " cause guess what, the Cavs just did something that no one on this site would ever think of!

And if the Cavs had an account on this website they’d have -173 for that trade

    🙂

A tip is don’t post a trade idea as they always get a lot of hate and negatives.  I agree though that we need to be more open minded on trades etc.  But think about it.. You posted a trade idea wanting feedback.. So they gave you feedback.

It makes a lot of sense to trade Hickson, neither Hickson or Tristan Thompson can’t play anything but the 4 and they also have Jamison, Varejao, and Samardo Samuels.

Is a front line of Derrick Williams, JJ Hickson, and Jonas Valanciunas too complicated?
Jonas is better than any center coming out next year, and Williams is better than just about all
of the forwards next year with more athleticism than Harrison Barnes. The Cavs would have their front line of the future then in next year’s draft, at worst, they get a good guard like Austin Rivers, Brad Beal, Myck Kabongo, or Kendall Marshall.

For some reason certain players are given a undue amount of respect or admiration on this site                (Anthony Randolph comes to mind),he wasnt as good, productive,or seen as part of their plans going forward. Can he be better, yes, but he has to do it,on the court, consistantly. Good trade for Cavs,at the least they have another 1st round pick outta things

Yeah, if the Kings make the playoffs,(which is still doubtful, but got a little more likely) than this trade would be great. A top 17 or 18 pick in the upcoming draft could get you a valuable starter, and if not this year, they can always talent. But also, if JJ Hickson is worth, lets say 3 more wins than Casspi, for example, the Raptors had the 3rd worst record in the league, but if they would have had three more wins, they would be at 6th worst, which for example purposes, lets just ignore the lottery, and say that those 3 wins dropped them 3 spots. The difference is chosing between either Perry Jones or James McAdoo and Sullenger, or someone like Jeremy Lamb, or terrence Jones, both great players in their own right, but thats the difference between face of the franchise and solid quality starter.

And for those of you that don’t think JJ Hickson is worth 3 games (or more) over Casspi, thats 4.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per 36 minutes. Those 4.5 points are the difference between winning by two, and losing by 2, not to mention that Hickson is a 4, adn Casspi is a 3. What do you have behind Jamison, Thompson, and Varajow? Jawad Williams?

All in all, I think that if the Cavs get a mid first round from theKings(that too in a loaded draft) plus possibly a top 3 pick, and this time there is a surefire player or 3.
