Lotto StudParticipantWHO IS THE ODD MAN OUT?
We all know Billy Donovan loves his group, but what is going to happen this Fall with his backcourt? He has Walker, Boynton, Beal & Rosario who everyone has forgot about, because of the Beal hype.
This will be the biggest dilemma Donovan will go through, since he has been at Florida. Who will he start, how will he dish out the minutes, who will the ball be ran through in offensive sets. There are all problems he must sit down & think on this offseason.
- Walker– Projected Starter
- Boynton– Chucker who heavily lives by & dies by the 3. Will he start over Beal is the question.
- Beal-Ideal SG in Donovan’s system, but will he Donovan run a 3guard set just to keep him on the court.
- Rosario-Must play, because he would hve not transferred there if Donovan was not going to give him the opportunity.

Da1potParticipantI have to agree this is pretty interesting and I think Beal is the best player and therefore should start at the two or even the three for this team. Walker will probably start at the point even though Rosario obviously transferred there for a reason. No matter who starts though there is only one ball and Rosario, Boynton and Beal are all going to shoot a lot.
I like the three guard set though and I think that is what they will run this year……

JNixonParticipantWalker and Boynton will start. I know Walker will be the PG, because he’s the only experienced PG in the group. Boynton is also to experienced not to start, even if he’s inefficient and a chucker. Rosario will factor as a scorer and penetrator, but I don’t know if they will choose to start him. Chandler Parsons has said that Rosario will lead the SEC in scoring next year (yes, over John Jenkins) and that he never misses shots in practice lol, so he’s been praised. I don’t think Florida has any other choices at the wings though, so I could see them play 4 in and 1 out, with Pat Young being the big man. Florida’s lack of depth is scary, as is the factor that they are crazily guard heavy and their recruits dont appear to be all that ready for SEC play. Erik Murphy also will have to grow up, and hopefully he’s gotten stronger to play legit minutes at PF because the team will need it. Florida will be able to score, but they likely will have a very tough time on the glass and in post D against the better teams they face down low. I think their ceiling is the Sweet 16, but they don’t have the size to get farther.

Lotto StudParticipantIndeed, I just thought you would mention how he would be utilized in that offense.
