durantula83ParticipantThe Lakers get Iguodala who can immediately step in and upgrade the small forward position. The awful Artest can finally sit his "parody of the old Artest" ass on the bench and stop being a major liability on the court. They do lose their 2nd best player on the team, with Odom, who, to my astonishment, was heavily underutilised in the playoffs. But hey, losing that awful Walton contract makes up for that big time I’d say.
Philly gets Odom, who can become the much needed veteran leader and proven champion this team needs to advance further in the playoffs. Odom, when he wants to, can score at will and create major match-up problems. He’s also one of the premier rebounding small forwards and can also be utilised as a point forward the way the Heat use LeBron. And Walton… uuhhhmmm yeah, when healthy I believe he can still come off the bench and annoy the HELL out of opponents.

PulseGlazerParticipantWhy would Philly do this? They need a 5, not another 4. They have a young core, Lamar is over 30. And they’ve already turned down better deals.
I might as well just copy and paste this from now on. Teams will not just line up to trade the Lakers their best players because they’re the Lakers. Stop it.

JordanC20ParticipantLets see the Lakers are now getting Dwight Howard, Andre Iguodala, Kevin Love, and Raymond Felton.
Wow…

PulseGlazerParticipantYou forget both the #1 and 2 picks in the draft.

HitsterParticipantIggy to the Lakers would be a good fit but I’d think that Philly might look for Bynum in return if they sent Hawes or 16th pick to the Lakers then it could be interesting.
Odom has a team option next year so that could be attractive to Philly and after the draft the Lakers could always add on a future first rounder if the original deal needed to be sweetened.

PulseGlazerParticipantWhy would anyone want a future Lakers first rounder? They have too much talent for it to even be a Lotto ticket. I think Philly would do it if LA wanted to eat Brand’s contract, but since there’s no way in hell they do… And if the Sixers just want to cut costs (i.e. Odom’s ETO), there are better deals for younger, cheaper talent out there – just search this very site. If they won’t move Bynum for the #2 or in a package for Dwight, they sure won’t for Igodala. If the Lakers offered Pau, that MIGHT be a different story (Pau’s salary is pretty absurd going forward), but that just creates a new hole for LA without vaulting the Sixers into contention since they’re still stuck with Elton.
Laker fans continue to frustrate me.

PulseGlazerParticipantImagine Odom’s reaction when the Philly fans started booing him? Wow, this is now my favorite ridiculous trade. I’m rooting for this to happen. How fast do you think he and Khloe would divorce?

delfamParticipantno way this happens, this would be a salary dump for the Sixers since Odom has one year left and Rod Thorn has already said they’re not trading Iguodala for a salary dump, they want to improve their team.
