ilike.panochasParticipantAfter years of loyalty, and never ever demanding a trade, regardless of how bad situations get, they would dump Nash to a awful franchise.
The offer is supposedly Steve Nash for TWolve’s #2 pick.

Nash deserves to be with a contender much like JKidd is.

The PredatorParticipantthe only contenders that need him off the top of my head are LA and miami and we all hate both of them

boshjonesfordParticipantso i wonder if (hypothetical scenario) the suns had 2 mil to offer Nash would he take the paycut and stay with the team for more financial flexablity…he would clearly leave the organization cause its A BUSINESS…thats how the leuage works Suns have to look out foor their own intrests just like Nash does

Michael.S.ParticipantI agree. He clearly needs to be traded; but don’t do him dirty and send him to Minnesota!!! He gave them great years and they are obviously in rebuilding mode now, so send him to a team that can compete and give him a shot………Like Miami, trade him for James Jones, pick 31 and a bag of doritos…just kidding… But seriously, how in the world would they even consider trading him to Minny?

JimmeredYaWabafetParticipantNice trade is an understatement lol cuz Nash is turning 38 and they just got Rubio to come over, this would be the worst trade in NBA history imo

ilike.panochasParticipantIm sure the Hawks can use someone like Nash, they have the pieces to pull it off.. But trading him to Minnesota is flat out dirty, I understand its business first, but there are certain exceptions when it comes to certain players, and Nash has earned that badge of honor.

joecheck88Participantif i can get 20 year old derrick williams for 36 year old steve nash, im taking it and not looking back. i will retire his number one day if it makes everyone feel better. i think nash has another 3 years left in him(atleast) and he would only spend 1 in minny. he would teach rubio a few things and then sign in sunny miami or la and have his chance at a ring. i mean what makes people think nash is going to regress so much. he has never been real athletic and he stays in such good shape he could probably play effective offense until he is 42.

llperezwho knows how serious any of those talks are. The article didnt even seem like anything was close to happening. But i agree, trading him to minnesota would be dirty. THere are very few players in this league where i think it goes beyond just business. Nash could have left town already but didnt even play the free agent market and stayed for probably less then he could have gotten elsewhere. If im the suns, i do not trade nash unless he flat out asks for it and even then i only send him somewhere he would want to go.

NashyMingParticipantI just remembered the NBA fantasy game ads a few years ago.
"I am sorry, guys. Business is business!"
As a fan of Steve Nash, I certainly hope he would be sent to a contender and win a championship.
However, I can understand why the Suns would offer him for the #2. Consider Nash has a relatively short contract, why would anyone bother to give up that much for a rental? Ths Suns should have traded Nash long ago so that he wouldn’t be wasting his time with a sinking ship.

kanyedabestParticipantthis trade would be sheer brilliance on the part of the PHX suns…. d-will can be a star for u for the next 15 years while nash is out of the league in 2-3 more years…. lmao only rumors like these can surface when the kahn man is running a team

JJeff6ParticipantOkay, this is not how it was shown to be. at all. The suns are NOT trading Nash. They have said so MANY times. They are actually offended that these trade rumors surfaced, as they were only mentioned briefly in a phonecall and never EVER were considered serious rumors. The media overplayed it and the suns have way too much respect for the fans and for Nash to trade him away like that. Suns president of basketball operations, Lon Babby, and gm Lance Blanks both said it clearly….THIS WAS NOT SERIOUS AT ALL. they didnt insigate anything, as the the wolves wanted to see how bendable the suns were with nash. So this article and this whole story is blown out of proportion and suns have nothing to be ashamed of. Period.

PulseGlazerParticipantRelax. ESPN reported that it was discussed, but both sides realized Nash wouldn’t like it and backed off. Unless Gortat is involved in the deal, don’t look for one to occur.
